This past weekend at the Nurburging Nissan held a European Press Event to debut the MY2012 ( 2013 US spec) GT-R.

Just 1 year the comprehensive updates of the DBA-R35, the GTR continues its evolution. Details from the event are still being gathered and we will keep you posted, but here is what is currently know:

- The 2013 GTR will once again feature a substantial gain in HP on par with the current increase from last years model. The final number will be announced at the car's launch, but it was shown at the event to be at least 20hp so expect 550+ HP. In addtion to increased boost, revisions to the intake and exhaust have been made.

- Visually the 2013 remains the same with no additional color options

- Suspension and Transmission logic have been tweaked

- Under body has been changed to improve aero and cooling

- Co2 emissions have once again been lowered

- Premium Black Edition and Egoist will be offered worldwide

- Official Ring Time Attack attempt is expected mid October

- The R35 life cycle is expected to continue for 2 additional model years

- In addition to these models a "Track Edition" will be available as RHD only to markets outside the US. This GTR is the one we reported on earlier this week with carbon parts inspired by Nissan Test Driver Toshio Suzuki's GTR tuning brand "Nordring ". It also features Dunlop Race slicks aswell as Volk Racing wheels....

NICE!

I wonder if we will be able to buy Nordring parts here in the states. Is anyone importing them or planning to???
man the power increase is great! is the GT-R going out with a bang?
Sigh should have waited. Time to mod =)

right now its almost impossible to get the current ones outside of japan..... and the prices on them will be alot to swallow for most buyers

for example at the current exchange rate the carbon trunk and the wing are about $11K and $4.5K each

news also came out that there would be 2 more model years after this one in the R35 life cycle so..... to answer your question...no expect more before this car is over with

thanks mc! this info should help those who are thinking about not getting one because of an r36.
Damn, I can't belive there is another power bump.

I'm guessing its no more of a bump than you can get with the Cobb AP?

I want to see what the intake upgrades are.....
whats scary is that they say at LEAST 40 hp...im absolutely happy with Nissan. They are going for the jugular...going to be interesting to see how it would perform vs the PDK turbo.
Outside of that...wow.
I can't believe there is going to be another power bump.....especially such a big bump. The 13 will be running high 10's in stock trim.

MC....any idea if Nissan will allow the 12 owners to get the new intakes and exhaust and have a stock retune from Nissan to keep the warranty in place? If not and this power bump is true, I'm adding after-market intakes, throwing a 90mm exhaust on and cobbing this bitch.
I wanted to keep my warranty in place though.

just based on the way nissan hasnt been retro fitting previous models i would say no... the emphasis here is on constantly improving the latest model year than after the purchase upgrades..

all this info is so new... lets see exactly what has been done and go from there..

ive known a HP increase was coming for a while now... but i admit i am a little surprised at just how substantial this seems to be..... at the event the actual graph was said to have shown between 570 and 580... we could be looking at as much increase on 13 as there was from the 09 to the 12... which is almost hard to believe
Can the current turbo's handle that much power without being out of their efficiency range?
This is absolutely amazing!!! Can't wait to see the list of all the mods!
Glad to see nissan effortlessly keeping up with Porsche. I can't wait for full details.
Revisions to the exhuast and intake are going to be made? Does that mean it might sound as agressive as something aftermarket?

Lets hope so!
If its running high 10's then running the 1/8 Mile will require a ROLL CAGE!!! At least at my local track.

na... the car obviously will still have 2 sets of cats and the oem style mid pipe...so i wouldnt expect alot of change in the sound department.. the new intake is to let more air into the engine but no details on what the exhaust change exactly is
2 more years for the r35

I'll wait for a completely new design then

yeah it looks like 2014 model year ( 2015 for the US obviously) will be the last
