What mod do you have?

I have an 09, with 80mm Amuse exhaust and midpipe. Will probably install 2.75 Cobb intake, spark plugs, and Cobb tune. What else will be needed to get into the 10 club in the 1/4 mile?

personally would have gone for a 90mm exhaust with 3inch intake, down pipes & injectors. leave oem plugs and a custom tune easy 10 sec
Everything Ben stated plus ap006 for launching. The 80 mm wouldn't stop you from 10's.
10.7 @ 130 with Switzer P600; cat-back, drop-in filters and tune.
Most guys in S Florida do 10.9's with JUST a custom tune and no other mods.

To guarantee a 10 second run all you need is a midpipe and tune. Unless you are at altitude....

What tires?
10.88 @ 129.8 with tune and midpipe. Still have stock downpipe so my car doesn't stink and isn't loud. ;)

93 octane with stock runflat r1's
Good times.

I can trap at 130 but haven't gotten below 11.1. Poor track prep, poor 60 I guess.
Lbc, I average 10's and can't trap 130 mph. All my runs are in the heat with avg DA 2000. I hope cool weather will bring my trap speed higher. I see tons of people trap higher than me, but when I am at the same track, none smokes me on top end.
Has to be track prep then. I think I've only lost in one head to head and that was to Jeremy's/vtknights GTR. I trap higher than he does but he is routinely a little faster on his times - consistent 11.0s and I think a best of 10.97.

Upgraded to the 006 to have a higher launch but have only had one shot at it. Cooler weather and being first on the track might get me my 10.

I was going to get tires, but realized it's really not worth it since they're giving me a hard time for going under 11.49 already.
Erik - you already know that your times are being caused by your tires and the consequent crappy 60 foot times you get...your traps put you well into the 10's.

He is correct about our strip - the track prep is hit or miss and one old dude really gives us hassles for a roll cage (all of the sudden and not for the US cars - as a TT Z06 ran low tens and had no roll cage last week).

That said - with the air cooling down, I guarantee LBC will crack well into the 10's IF he gets some real rubber and reduces his 60 foot average from his existing 1.85-1.9 to 1.65-1.75.

When I did my 10.96 I had a 1.764 60 foot - my best ever. Every tenth on the 60 is worth about 2 tenths at the towers - so one more tenth at the 60 gives me about a 10.7x which is what Diveextreme (when he had my setup before his insane R1KX) did in Florida.

Erik - get the rubber and go on Wednesday when Bill isn't there. Plus let me know when you do...

Hey Guys,

I was just wondering how your gearboxes are holding up with the increased launch control rpm (3800) and the extra power over standard with the exhaust and tune. Has anyone had any issues and what are your thoughts on using the launch with that power and what lifespan the gearboxes have. Did you guys use the launch control to achieve 10s with those mods mentioned?

Also do you know did the alpha 9 gtr get a 9 second pass with a standard untouched gearbox and also sleepdoc's gtr or did they at least upgrade the 1st gear etc; and were they running the stock 20inch rims on the stock bridgestones? Help with best tyre pressures would be great to.

I have just put mines dumpipes and a hks midpipe and a cobb tune v6 and am in the process of getting a ti catback. Just trying to work out how the gear box holds up with the increased power.

Cheers

you're pretty much asking the whole forum for their mod list

to be honest, we and a few other tuners have got complete stock gtr's with just remap to dip into the 10's. it can defo be done on stock exhaust etc

I have come to the conclusion that I just don't think 2K for tires (Proxe R888s apparently suck as a DD tire as well), just to just to drop another .10 or so and then subsequently get kicked off again ... is really worth the money. LOL

I'll probably go up and try it one more time. I am upgrading injectors and going to a 3" intake and getting retuned. So maybe all that, higher LC and cooler temps will put me in there.
Awesome! The other way to get into the 10's is to do other work to compensate for slipping lol...let me know when you're going - I normally shoot for Friday - but like I said - Billy isn't there on Wednesdays (he's ALWAYS there on Fridays) - so if you want to go Wednesday - let's do it!

Was that on pump, race gas or e85 and what psi?

It's really all abt track prep... Some guys are getting solid 1.60s on all-seasons.
Yeah it feels like an ice rink.

I had a best trap of 131.5 mph - no 10s.
