We were recently contacted by Sharrod, a long time customer of ours for another round of modifications on his 2009 GT-R. Previously, he had a CBRD 76mm y-pipe, a Cobb AP, and a Forged Performance custom tune. Although he was very happy with his current setup, he was ready for some more power. The initial plan was to bring the car down for a handful of bolt on upgrades and retain the factory turbos. However, upon arrival we discussed his power goals and his expectations of what he wanted out of the car. We concluded that a turbo upgrade was in order. The car is used almost entirely for daily driving reflecting the nearly 30,000 miles on the clock, so response was a big factor. Fortunately, we happened to have a set of AMS turbos in stock. Sharrod agreed to the upgrade and we quickly got to work. After about a week of hard work and late hours the installation was completed and ready for Sharif to work his magic. With Sharif pecking away at the keyboard before his flight to Dubai and Kuwait (tuned 12 GT-R's on that trip), the end result was 676 whp/93 octane as measured on our low reading Dyno Dynamics dyno. For reference that is about 130whp above our FP600 setup, and about 280whp over stock! Sharrod's GT-R has been transformed from a tame fun car to a daily driven street monster. I'm sure the new power will take some time to get used to. Modification list and pictures below!

• AMS Front Mount Intercooler
• HKS Intakes
• AMS Stock Frame Turbo Upgrade
• Tial Blow off Valves
• Forge Motorsports Wastegates
• AMS Downpipes
• Injector Dynamics 1000CC Injectors
• Deatschwerks 300lph Fuel Pumps
• HKS Legamax Exhaust
• Forged Performance Custom ECU Calibration

Aside from power increasing modifications, we also installed:

• Michelin Pilot Super Sport Tires 275/35/20 and 295/35/20
• AP Racing J Hook Rotors Front and Rear
• Endless MX72 Brake Pads Front and Rear
• Forged Performance SS Brake Line Kit

Here are a few photos from the install process and a photoshoot that our Media Production Specialist, Chad did for the customer.

Hate to mention:

I was told rods will start bending at that power.

As you can see from the graph, the torque is kept quite a bit below 600 to keep the motor nice and safe. I think you are confusing the hp and torque levels in relevance to bent rods.

If budget allows we always suggest some transmission upgrades at this power level. However, for this particular case we were working with a set budget and the customer opted not to pull the transmission this go around. The car will be making it's way back to us later in the year for some wheels, suspension, and hopefully some transmission work.

Curious how you got your hands on Michelin pss 295 tires. I was under the impression these are back ordered until late feb. Can you source a set of Michelin pss in 295/f and 345/r? Been waiting months for a set.

345's are in production but they won't be in the USA for at least 2 months. The 295's are available...I will have Ryan contact you.

This car start to finish was done in 1 week. As long as we have all of the parts here in advance it's a pretty quick and painless process.
