Job Title: Certified Tuner/ECU Calibrator
Summary of Job Description:
The Tuner at Forged Performance is responsible for all programming and tuning all different types of engine management systems we use on the various vehicles we support. The tuner works in house, but occasionally will be required to travel for special events, or remote tuning projects. The vast majority of the tuning is performed on our Dyno Dynamics AWD Dynometer, which allows for steady state and wide open throttle tuning across the entire operating range of the vehicle. Road tuning and final checks are also required. The Tuner is considered an absolute expert and perfectionist in his trade, and he shall be looked upon by the technical and sale staff for support, leadership, and advice. Our Tuner is a key leader and doesn't just sit at the laptop and punch the keys. He is a troubleshooter, a thinker, a problem solver and most importantly, a lead team player. Significant and verifiable tuning experience is mandatory for consideration for this position. We are looking for the absolute best in the industry.

Ideal candidate will have these essential skills:
- Significant experience tuning import and domestic vehicles such as the Nissan GT-R, 350Z, 370Z, Mitsubishi Evo, Subaru, Porsche, BMW, late model GM and Ford.
- Significant experience tuning the following systems: Cobb Pro Tuning Suite, Haltech, AEM EMS, Motec, UTEC, Open Source, UpRev, DSM Link, HKS Fcon Vpro, Power FC.
- A strong track record of tuning high powered forced induction cars for track and street use.
- Must have ability to troubleshoot: no start issues, misfires, mechanical and electrical issues in real-time.
- Must provide verifiable list of high visibility and high powered tunes.
- Ability to multi-task several projects at once and acute attention to detail.
- Willingness to switch to different tasks or duties at a moment's notice.
- Outstanding verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to write clearly and professionally for online forums, Company blog and question and answer sessions.
- Maintain company email box, responding promptly and accurately to all internal and external correspondence.
- Excellent follow up required. Must follow through on commitments.
- Ability to manage and lead a group and speak in front of large audiences.
- Update management and tracking grids with current status on projects.
- Participate actively and enthusiastically in the various online forums we support.
- Generate written content, tech articles, and how-to's for our blog and online forums we support.
- Answer questions via email and phone, about Forged Performance parts and services.
- Keep management informed of current trends in the industry. Advise and provide strategic input.
- Must be a US Citizen or Permanent Resident of the USA and legally permitted to work full time.
- Pass a criminal background and drug test.
- Possess a valid driver's license with acceptable driving record.
- Willingness to travel occasionally.

- Position consists of approximately 70% time sitting while tuning in the shop environment, 20% sitting in an office environment and 10% standing or walking between shop and front office area.
- Position requires exposure to auto shop environment, where safety is of utmost importance.
