Hi,

My AccessPORT came with my car. How does one differentiate (using serial number) between the regular AP and the one w/the TCM functionality?

Thanks!
Wraith
When you turn it on it will have both ecu and TCM flashes as an option otherwise probably need to contact Cobb to get a definitive answer.
You can plug into gtr or computer to view.

On your AccessPORT go to "AccessPORT->About" and look for the part number. The AP-NIS-005 is the ECU AccessPORT and AP-NIS-006 is the ECU and TCM AccessPORT.

I will definitely upgrade to the nis-006. However a question:

I had read somewhere in this forum that the new firmware will include the tcm settings from the 2012 USDM for the 09-11's (which is much smoother shifting and response). Is this true for users of the NIS-005 or does one have to buy the NIS-006 to get the transmission updates?

thanks again

That update will only be part of the AP-NIS-006.

Hi wraith,
I borrowed my friends cobb, for resetting only due to cell codes on last week run and to read cel code. and since his cobb was tuned for his car. thats why im looking into buying my own cobb.
bought the car second hand (first owner mentioned 2009), but my friend looking at the windshield mentioned its 2010. thats why im asking here.

btw my location is in Philippines.
