After a long search, I finally bought a Nissan Skyline! This is just about as exciting when I first bought my R35. The bad part is that I have to wait till June to get the car. This is a car that I've wanted since '96. I was a high school foreign exchange student in Tokyo. My host sister's friend had a black R32. He took me out for a ride; right then and there I wanted one.

In the mean time, I'm looking to have some work done to it while its still is Japan.

Pics will soon come.

Congrats! I had the same color.

From the looks of it

- It seems to be in fairly okay condition, probably a grade 3.5? Any accident? How many KMs?
- If it's over 100k KMs then some of the interior has probably been replaced including the gearnob and handbrake gaiter
- Front spoiler splitter has been repainted
- Looks quite dusty so it's probably been sitting around for a while
- Its got a stock airbox which is very rare as everyone seems to change them
- For its age the engine still looks okay as the paint on the engine cover tend to wear out from the heat

I would absolutely check for rust all over, you'll need to remove the spoilers, side spoilers boot etc, and check the wheel arches as well.

It's a great car and quite "chuckable" because it is the lightest among the RB26 GTRs, but it needs quite a bit of mods to get to where you want it to be to really transform the car. Good thing parts are cheap now.
Baki, the grade is a 4/C and no accidents or rust. The car is about to get a full inspection today. Yes, the car is pretty much stock which is rare. I plan on fixing/changing afew things to get it where I'd like it to be.

Beautiful! Congrats. I don't presume you found a way around the smog rules required for registration in cali? Most cali guys just register it in another state to get around it.
That's the plan.

I'm going to Japan in May to see my car in person before it ships out. Currently having some things done to it while it's there ie paint respray, replacing seals, swap transmission to a Getrag transmission, and engine build.

That's cool having all that stuff done before the car even gets here. Did your importer say the build will be cool as far as EPA goes? I know the "exempt if original configuration" wording is a bit murky when dealing with major mods.
When the engine gets pulled, the car's going to get a resprayed. I'm being careful right now and want everything to be done right and look stock.

Wow! Full build in Japan before it comes? Amazing!!
Yeah, the yen is weaker than the dollar right now. I can do all the heavy and hard to get stuff done out there since its limited here in North America. Auto Select is doing the build.

The car is a grade 4 from the auction. The car is in really good condition. The interior is cool, but will need some tlc. The car currently has 127k km on it. I'm doing a complete over haul on the car out here in Japan. I will tell you all more info about my plans later. I go to Yokohama in a few hours to meet my tuner. This is really exciting!

Yeah, no bubble dash. I'll try to source a new steering wheel or what not.

Had the pleasure of meeting Ito San of Do-Luck today. Amazing and humble guy that knows so much. Looking forward to this build.

Dashboard says alot about any car. that's my starting point isnt the dash discontinued from Nissan ?
I'm not sure, but I'm able to get one. Cost is around $200-300, though. My dashboard and interior are both in great condition. The only thing that's funky looking was the center console; it had some eroded padding in it. I was only able to drive the car around the yard, because it wasn't registered. The car will be shipped to Yokohama this week. Exciting and expensive times hahaha

After months of back and forth discussing and talking about rims, tyres, and brakes; I finally decided on what to get and pulled the trigger. At first I was searching how and low for a set of LMGT4's in bronze, but I didn't have much luck. I was back and forth with the classic TE37's but the offset I was looking for was discontinued. I finally came across the ZE40's in bronze. It's a good lightweight wheel and should suit the car well.

Nothing like complementing 18in wheels with a big brake kit, right!?! I'm going with 8 piston runduce brakes in the front and 6 piston in the rear, and 380mm discs. That should stop a car. Hahahaha I have another trip lined to go back to Japan next month for the Formula 1 race. While I'm there, I'm going to check up on the car and hopefully, she'll be ready to ship out.

nice, just got a set of caliper adapaters R35 brembo kit on the R33 I'm working on
, just an advise you will need to change the brake master and booster to comp for the pedal feel.

also for the rear parking brake assembly make sure you get the parking brake set up from a G37S or a R35 gt-r.
Thanks! I'll be looking that.

Latest update:

The car is now currently being tuned. The rims are still in the process of being made; should be completed in a few weeks. At this rate, it'll be just in time for Christmas hahahaha.

I leave for Japan next week. I'll update my thread with pics and more info.

You said you were able to get an R32 dashboard for 200-300. Are you still able to? I need a new one.
I'll check my contact and see what they can do.
