All,

I am sorry to pass this message along to some of you who I know are close friend's of Jim McKinley (09-TITANIUM), but he passed away today of a heart attack.

His niece is my gf, and through her I got to know Jim over the last year and even attended one of the GTR events at MSR a few months ago with him where I met a few of you.

I know how involved he was in the GTR community and how much he loved his car. I'm not sure what arrangements are being made and if it will be public, but I will check with the family and follow up on this post.

Please keep Jim and his family in your thoughts and prayers.

I've attached a photo that Mike Moran-Diaz took at MSR of Jim having some fun.

Jim was the adhesive that held the local owners together. He spent a lot of time and his own money on every event. I think it is fitting that we had the best attendance at the last event before his death.
He will be sorely missed. Condolences to his family.

Anyone that knows of the funeral arrangements, please post it, if it is ok with the family.

I'm very shocked and saddened by this news. I just recently had the privilege and pleasure of meeting Jim on a couple of occasions. Really a quality person and he will be missed in the GTR community, especially in the Houston area.

I called Chad immediately after I saw the Titanium GTR on 59 as it was blocking the lanes. I thought of Jim and I kept calling him and no one picked up...

This is a very sad day for all of us. Jim, you will be missed. Please post the funeral details if possible.

Sad to hear this. I met Jim a couple of times at the local meets and it will be sad not to see him at these meets anymore. Great guy. Condolences to his family.
From the post above, I take it he was driving at the time?

Anson called me today and had me worried all day because he had tried to reach Jim and I called as well and left a voicemail (run-on sentence I know). Jennifer was asking me all day if I had heard anything about Jim. Then we saw this thread this evening and were taken back. This is so sad, Jim is going to be VERY missed by everyone. Jennifer and I considered Jim a very good friend, despite the small amount of time we've known him. Going to miss him.

i cant believe thIs at all ....... i am very sad as this is a shocker to me.... he was a very nice and humble guy and always thought for others first. GOD always takes the best away too soon. i recently meet him because of me being a GTR owner and from day one he was very kind and made me feel like i had know him for ages. i am glad that we had the meeting this last 11/05/2011 @ cars and coffee and that i had the chance of being there with him and meeting his friends and seeing him. like always i was proud that i could help him arrange such an event but now i feel sad that it was our last one together. As his friends we should arrange something in his honor...... please respond back if you guys have any thoughts on this or idea's please...... i think that we at least owe him as he has done so much for us....

JIM you will be missed greatly and dearly
rest in peace 09-TITANIUM

All,

Jim was driving on SW Fwy / Hwy 59 and managed to pull over until help arrived.

Details on his arrangements are still being made and I will post contact information and funeral info if the family would like me to.

Thanks again for your kind messages. He was very close to his family and I know they will appreciate this.
