I have a 4th Gen Touch, when I plug it up to the interface in the glove box, a message comes up saying that the ipod would not be charging while connected.

I just found this old thread and am bumping it because the Scosche adapter is brilliant and will take care of my biggest pet peeve as a USDM2010 owner. Just bought the adapter!

Apple changed the plugs. New products will not charge w/o the adapter.

Just bought one on amazon.com. My nano wasn't charging. Fingers crossed! I will update the thread to verify it works. $17.91 on amazon with free shipping (prime members)

Update: The Scosche adapter works perfectly. Charges my 4th gen Nano and wakes it from sleep mode when I start the car. Definitely worth the $18 from amazon.com!

Will this charge a 4s?
It should. Like Greg S. said, Apple changed the plugs on the newer devices (such as my 4th gen nano), so the adapter should work with all iPhones and iPod's. I haven't tried my iPad yet, so no idea about that one.
