I have a 2013 Nissan GTR. I have had intermittent key FOB issues, acting like a dead battery. The key FOBs always work to start the car when loaded into the dashboard FOB slot. I opened each FOB and tested the Panasonic CR2032 batteries and they always test strong. There were small metal tabs on the cover opposite the battery that make contact with the battery that I gently pulled up to improve contact and this would work for a while, but the same problem would recur. I decided that the battery needs to be thicker. So I placed a small piece of paper towel into battery compartment before placing battery, effectively creating a thicker battery. A thin piece of plastic might not compress over time. This seems to have cured the problem. Hope this helps others. Wild that such a stupid problem may have caused many of us these annoying issues. It affects other Nissan key FOBs based on other forum posts.
