I finally mounted Stillen skid plate on my 2014 BE this week. To make the process easier, I pulled the front lip under-tray off the car. Pro tip: attaching a skid plate to the under-tray lying flat on the ground is a whole lot easier than trying to do it upside-down with the lip still up on the car.
Anyway, in the process, I noticed that my under-tray mounting layout does not quite look like those pictured in these DIY threads:

and http://www.gtrlife.c...lence-diffuser/
First, my under-tray has 2 additional rubber caps, with 10mm bolts underneath, immediately aft of metal reinforcement brace. Looks like at some point Nissan added these supporting attachment points to the back of plastic intercooler bottom air dam.
Second, my car has no 12mm bolt - and no corresponding support bracket to bolt into - underneath the middle metal brace rubber cap. This is strange, as middle of air dam front edge is now not supported by the metal brace. The big question is - did Nissan intentionally make this change at some point, or did my dealer forget to install the center support bracket and 12mm bolt during pre-delivery inspection (or removed it during my 1K POS visit)?
Could someone with a 2014 confirm whether you car has the center bracket attached to the intercooler air dam or not? Check out my photos of the air dam with under-tray removed to see what I mean...
