I didn't know something like that could happen on a dyno. Didn't seem like a typical dyno run, though.

Usually they cruise around 65-70 mph and then hit it and release. This seemed to just keep increasing speed constantly. Someone with knowledge explain?

Wtf. Top speed run on the dyno? Maybe the tire got hot as f*ck? And was a shitty tire to start with? Def lucky nobody got hit the anything. On a side note that Z sounds meannnnn

Does it look like may be the tire hit the floor behind the roller.?
I was in the vicinity of something similar to this at the ford exhibit in la auto show a couple years ago when their high hp mustang was being released. Quite scary and I can imagine potential trajectories could be lethal.

Car was strapped oddly and loading the tire very heavy, you can see the distortion in the tire. No idea what the dyno operator was doing.

Tire blowouts happen, if a car ever runs bias slicks you check them after each run as they are the biggest culprit of popping.
