Hey guys...

I done some research but haven't really found this information...so hopefully I won't get hung for asking this question...haha.
I know this would be different for everyone depending on the miles that the car currently have but I just wanted to get an rough idea of about how much would it cost a year to properly maintance a GTR.

The car probably will never see the track... Most of my driving is city driving. the car will be a daily driver that will probably get at most between 7-8k miles a year... for mods I probably won't do much besides an exhaust and probably some springs and nice wheels and thats it... (maybe one day down the road do the P600 kit).

Since Im in a wheelchair I'll probably be very limited on how much DIY maintenance I would be able to do my self... so that why I wanted to get a rough idea on what I should expect on spend on a yearly basis for maintenance. I want to make sure that if I pull the trigger and get the GTR that Im not getting over my head with the maintenance cost which seems to be the thing that everyone brings up when I tell them about my idea of getting the GTR.

any feedback is greatly appreciated.

Thanks

with normal driving tranny & diff fluids call for changing at 18000 miles. fluid cost is around $650. labor will probably be a few hundred more at least. pretty easy to diy, but as you said your particular situation probably requires that you have someone else do it. i change my oil every 5k miles. 6qts at whatever the going price is for mobil 1 and i use a mobil 1 filter.

with the mileage per year you listed it sounds like 2 oil changes and tranny & diff every few years so that's a pretty low maintenance cost.

yeah for your purposes your looking at fairly low costs

tires are the most expensive thing to up keep on the car.... i would suggest you going with the dunlop all season tires... as there are minimal performance differences for everyday driving and tire life can be 3-4 times longer than the summer max performance tires

thats is great news!... thanks guys for the info....with this it seems like the GTR is getting closer and closer to beign my driveway!.

From all the research that I have done seems like the brakes might be one of the most expensive things to maintain on this car...

yeah its bot bad... i average 7K miles a year too and besides tires ( i do alot of autoX that eats them up fast) i dont hardly pay anything to keep the car serviced... $100 for a oil change a couple times a year

and if you decide to get a 2012+ car the intervals for the big fluid changes are now 36K miles....

the brakes yes and no

yes because if you replace OEM rotors and pads... its like 6K

but there is a alot of good news

#1.. brakes will last you over 30K miles if you dont track.... and then you will probably only need pads unless you have cracks in the rotors or the wear lip is too deep.... so your looking at $500 for pads

#2 if you do need rotors at that time...there are aftermarket solutions that are half the price and better quality

so its not that bad at all if you are wise to other options besides dropping it off at the dealer and telling them to replace everything

Wow...the news just keep getting better!!.

Thanks MC for all the info you have no idea how much better this makes me feel!

yeah I will always try to avoid sending any car to the dealership for anything else besides warranty work... so for brakes and any other parts I will definetly look at the aftermarket option first!.

again thanks guys.

I'd like to know how much it would cost to own a GTR if 5-10 track days a year are attended and it is daily driven? I am trying to sort out finances for next year and need to start figuring this out.

Tires: 3 to 4 track days per set of tires?

Brakes: Pads and rotors I really have no idea how long they'd last.

Fluids: I plan on changing the trans fluid to wilall(sp?) once I get the car as well as change the oil after each track day using MB1? What about coolant? How often will that need replacing?

Anything else?
