Need more fluid due to trans oil cooler, what to do?

1364 Views 9 Replies 7 Participants Last post by  shawnhayes
I have rebuilt the trans on my 09 and got the Willall fluid which normally give you leftovers but I also added a Greddy Trans Cooler to the mix and to fill everything has taken up all the fluid and I am still low. Any suggestions on how to top off? Anyone done this and know how many quarts I need to top it off? Should I just throw in some OEM fluid? Thank you all.

Jenner has about 2l of Victory Specification fluid for sale. Just add that, You'll get some extra protection too!

Guru our 10L container should be more than enough for your application. How are you checking for level?

Following service manual directions. Start car cold and not enough fluid off the bat
i had to add 2.5L of extra fluid when i added AAM trans cooler.

Not so Martin. I also had to add some of the old 'regular' Willall fluid along with the V-Spec 10 litres when I had the GReddy cooler installed.

To the OP, a quart or two of the OEM fluid along with the 10 litres of Willall isn't going to hurt anything; just ask Shawn.

So with the transmission warm, the cooler primed, and the drain bung removed there is nothing coming out of the drain tube?
I would be surpried by this, but surprises happen every day

We also sell WR35TM in 1L containers now too (so you can purchase top ups)

Out of curiosity, how much are the 1 liter top ups?
Picked up Jenners leftovers. Should work perfectly. Thank you so much Paparazzi.

Echo this x1000.

Perfectly miscable. Even the color ends up okay.
