No mention of the GT-R specifically, but an interesting article on how Nissan has positioned itself as a growing brand in the wake of a bad economy and recent disasters (while Toyota and Honda have slipped)...

They have a really intresting network for parts being that Renault is really a key strategic player in the parts market. Once you get to see all of the various parts makers that supply parts for the R35 GTR where as previous versions of the GT_R were strictly Japan based parts suppliers with the exception on the R34's that used Getrag transmission boxes from Germany.
