Nissan Europe's working on a top secret project to give their itty-bitty Juke SUV a Godzilla-sized boost. Internally, they've dubbed it the "Super" Juke and not only do we have exclusive first details, but also this exclusive sketch of the super-crossover.

Just a few days after we dubbed the Nissan Juke one of the world's most polarizing cars, we're exclusively revealing Nissan Europe's attempt to do something even more polarizing (polarizingly awesome!) - taking the pedestrian Juke crossover and boosting power to more Godzilla-sized heights.

We're told by our sources ar Nissan that this special super-powered Juke will get a stripped-out lightweight interior and a 480 BHP power plant expected to give it a 0-to-60 time of less than four seconds. That likely means they'll be using the same dual-turbocharged 3.8-liter V6 found in the Nissan GT-R.

As you can see, the Juke will receive enlarged wheel arches, front splitter and what looks like a double rear wing, split each side of the central rear brake light.

We should expect to officially see the "Super" Juke sometime before the end of the year.

I hope this is true! Nissan needs something like the Super Juke to rival the BMW X3 6TT, Audi Q5RS, and other small super SUV's that will come out soon.

It looks like its true. They are going to build a couple cars according to the press release. Should be a fun little thing. I wonder how much its going to weigh.

Where in the press release? All I could read in it:
However, the car is not for production. It is a one-off, road legal concept car developed by Nissan and built by leading motorsports outfit RML with input from Nissan Technology Centre for Europe (NTC-E).

Notes to Editors:

Only two Juke-Rs will be created, one in left-hand-drive and one in right-hand-drive.

Nissan has been racing since the 1960s and currently competes in the FIA GT1 World Championship, Super GT, LMP2 and many other motor racing events around the world.

Nissan is the founder of GT Academy - a unique competition on Playstation's Gran Turismo that provides a dream come true opportunity for video gamers to become real life racing drivers.

Nissan and RML

Nissan has enrolled the expertise of RML for several specialist projects over the past 21 years.

Key Dates:
  • 1984 - Ray Mallock Limited (RML) was founded by race driver and motorsport engineer Ray Mallock. The company started by building and running sports prototypes in the World Sportscar Championship.
  • 1990 - RML first became involved with Nissan with the team running a works-backed R90C prototype at Le Mans. The lead car took pole position, led the race for five hours and claimed fastest lap before being sidelined.
  • 1998-1999 - RML runs works-backed Nissan Primeras in the British Touring Car Championship, winning Team and Manufacturer titles in both 1998 and 1999, with Laurent Aïello claiming the drivers' championship in 1999.
  • 2003 - RML creates a "wolf in sheep's clothing" for Nissan as the two companies unveil the Micra-R - a version of the unsuspecting city car sporting a full works Nissan Primera racing engine where the rear seats used to be. The engine was later replaced by a V6 engine from the Nissan 350Z.

NISSAN JUKE-R UNVEILED: FIRST IMAGE OF THE ULTIMATE COMPACT CROSSOVER
NISSAN MAKES SHOCK JUKE-R UNVEIL DURING QASHQAI PRESS EVENT IN MALAGA

The world has been given its first glimpse of Nissan's ultimate compact crossover: Juke-R.

Unveiled at a Nissan Crossover media launch in Malaga, Spain, Juke-R shocked an unsuspecting audience when it was revealed as a 'surprise guest' at the end of the press conference. Shown for the first time in the metal, Juke-R continues to create a huge reaction, harnessing the bold design of Nissan's provocative Juke with the speed and power of the company's flagship GT-R...... creating the world's fastest, most innovative, crossover.

Just two versions of the Nissan Juke-R are being created, one in each of left-hand and right-hand drive. The cars have been developed by Nissan and are being built by leading motorsports outfit RML with input from Nissan Technology Centre for Europe (NTC-E). Testing of the car will begin in November.
