2009 - 2010 GT-R RATTLE FROM FLYWHEEL HOUSING

APPLIED VEHICLES: 2009 - 2010 GT-R (R35)
IF YOU CONFIRM
A rattle noise coming directly from the rear tail shaft area of the flywheel housing,
NOTE:
• The GT-R transmission has different operating characteristics than a typical passenger car. Because of this, various driveline rattle noises may be heard during some driving conditions. These normal characteristic noises do not indicate a malfunction. Refer to the Owner's Manual for addition information on transmission operating characteristics.
• When placed on a lift and listening from under the vehicle, the source of the typical GT-R driveline rattle noise is from the center of the main driveshaft or near the rear mounted transmission. A rattle noise caused by the flywheel housing will come directly from the rear tail shaft area of the flywheel housing.
• The rattle noise for this incident-if it should occur-can be duplicated by putting the transmission in Park or Neutral, then slightly accelerating and decelerating the engine.
ACTION
Replace the Flywheel housing with the new one listed in the Parts Information.

2009 NISSAN GT-R; VOLUNTARY EMISSIONS RECALL CAMPAIGN ECM REPROGRAM

NTB08093

Nissan has determined that some 2009 model GT-R vehicles may be equipped with an improperly functioning on-board evaporative emissions diagnostic system. The evaporative emissions purge monitor ratio within the Engine Control Module (ECM) may be lower than the OBD-II regulation standard. To correct this condition, Nissan is conducting a Voluntary Emissions Recall Campaign to reprogram the ECM at no charge for parts or labor. See this bulletin for further detail.

2009 NISSAN GT-R VOLUNTARY SERVICE CAMPAIGN STEERING LOCK UNIT

NTB10-025 Recall

Nissan is conducting a Voluntary Service Campaign to replace the steering lock assembly on certain specific 2009 model year GT-R vehicles due to excessive oil within the assembly, which could cause the Body Control Module (BCM) to prevent the engine from starting when the ignition is cycled. This issue does not affect steering or engine operation when the vehicle is already running.

Since some of the above posts are old. Do any of the earlier posts affecting '09-'10 GTRs also affect the 2011's? (in other words have they been extended into the 2011 model years)?

  • Certain 2012 GT-R vehicles, due to a manufacturing irregularity, may develop poor appearance on the front pillar finisher. To prevent this potential condition, Nissan is conducting this voluntary service campaign to inspect and if necessary replace the front pillar finisher at no charge for parts or labor. See this bulletin for further detail.

Just reading some of these TSB's and just wanted to point out one thing. When identifying a TSB: or asking about one make sure that you identify which country your inquiring about. Is it Canadian,USA,Japan, uk etc. TSB's aren't the same for all countries and they do not crossover! They may have similar ones but again a different #. It will save you alot of time.

My 2010 had illumination degradation of the gas gauge, it will spread evetually to other areas of the cluster. Warranty extended to 6 years as this is a common problem. Go to the dealer and they will match the milage on the newly installed cluster. MC thanks for this thread
