Hey guys

After 2 years researching for the GTR I still haven't pulled the trigger. Was gonna get 2012 but now there's the talk about 2013 with more HP bump so maybe better to wait.

Just found this from my local dealer. http://www.huntclubn...issan-gt-r.html

Do you think it's a good deal?

thanks in advance and happy to join the forum

UPDATE: so just bought for 61199$. We agreed on 60750 then they charged a few hundred dollars of hidden fees. How stupid was I to have signed those papers blind, only checked the first 2 digits..

I asked them for the money back well you can guess what happened. A deal is a deal. That price includes a set of winter tires. But for sure I won't go back for the 2012 or 2013 I have been waiting for.

The car had a minor paint done for 918$ which doesn't sound significan on a GTR so I assumed that was ok. They were trying to sell me an additional year of warranty for 9000$....of course I turned it down as I probably wont keep this car for a full year.

Anyway, delivery on Monday. Can't wait.

The only hesitation I would have about it your comfort with new vs used (how often was it launched?). I've had an '09 and now the '12. Car is so quick in any iteration it will blow away your expectations, and if they do bump up the HP from current they will also bump price, so you'd be paying close to double.

Nice choice of cars btw! I can see that you have impecable taste. How much fun is it to launch a 5300 lb truck and eat other cars?

I don't think that's a bad price considering that in June I was offered a 2010, albeit with only 16Km, for $84K--no negotiation-- at Guelph Nissan.
Yeah some dealers really try to rip you off hard and not being realistic. This one is a good deal assuming there is nothing wrong with the car. Carproof shows only a minor paint was done for 918$.

Yeah that x6m is sure fun to drive fast. But what I Iike the most is the tech in the cabin. HUD, Bluetooth streaming, nice screen and control. And also the shift sound in M mode. I rarely find cars that can match to it on the street in Ottawa. My favorite is still the range rover.as a daily driver it is amazing. It is so comfy and that feeling of being able to run over any thing is fantastic. TTS is my girlfriends' but it is a very complete car I find. Just not enough HP for me.

So yeah this GTR is supposed to be about value. Just wanna have some fun with it. Maybe get a 2012 or 13 later on. I wanna hear it from some one who has both. Do you think 2012 is worth the extra money over this one?

If you're getting your service work done at HCN watch the service guys as either they have no idea what they're doing, or are trying to "bulk up" the bill with redundant work. I had my '11 in there for the 12 month POS and they tried to insist I needed get a "12 month multi-point inspection" done (charge of a bit over $200) in addition to the POS (which covered the same items and is free) to maintain my warranty. Straight BS. Hopefully at some point we'll get another GT-R authorized Nissan dealer in town...

Yeah after how they treated me in sales I'd expect nothing less from service. I have to go to toronto once a month no matter what so I will do service in a reputable dealer like OAKVILLE NISSAN. After I bought the car the business office tried to push me on extended warranty for almost 9000$, for just one more year or 20, 30k kms.

I have been wanting the GTR for such a long time. This was supposed to be a very happy experience. And it's not that I care about a few hundred dollars more on a car like this. But the way they took my money and the way I was treated has made me very uncomfortable ever since I bought the car.

They have a 2012 Black in there. I heard it was sold the the guy gave up his deposit and walked away. I applaud he did that.

so are you still doing your service there?

The whole "go see the business office so they can try and squeeze you for some additional add-ons" approach just makes me boil. That warranty ploy for $9K is just outlandish. Too bad that dealers can't figure out that they'll do much better selling you 2+ cars rather than trying to get an extra grand on the first one and pissing you off in the process.

+1 on Oakville, I've bought both my GT-Rs from them (Internet sale (Jason) both times), no hassles at all, everything exactly like they said. Ian (the GT-R tech there) is top notch, had him do some aftermarket parts installs for me (they're a Stillen dealer). If I was driving to Toronto more I'd be getting it serviced there but I mostly fly. I had been going to Spinelli in Montreal (good service experience, the service manager looks after the GT-R customers personally and meets you when you arrive with your car), but HCN is closer and the booking part of the experience was very good (i.e. got a call-back on my appointment request within 30 minutes, was in the next day, had a loaner (G37) available without even having to ask). Prob. will try them once more just to see if I got a green service advisor or if this is a dealership wide "bulk up the bill" problem. Given your experience, I'm figuring that it may be a dealership wide issue...
