It'll be soon a year ago that I bought a brand new GT-R35 Black Edition.

First list of mods:

HKS Superior Spec R CatBack
HKS Resonated Y-PIPE
COBB Down-Pipes
Upper IC pipes HKS SSQV-III
NISMO oil cap (+0.00001hp)
NISMO cadiator cap (+0.00001hp)
COBB custom tune
CARBONETIC SPEC-R pads

After about 6 months driving it like that (6000 track kilometers) it was time for more power with our proper specs:
HKS turbine kit with full ceramic coating:

HKS dampers:

Coated intake manifold:

Koyo water radiator:

HKS cams and springs:

Cosworth rods with our custom spec DLC COSWORTH F1 pistons :

A bit of gold reflector:

Added to this:

Alcon brake discs
ADV.1 wheels
ID 1000
HKS IC kit
HKS oil pan
HKS diff cooler
HKS gearbox cooler
HKS fuel pumps
T1R fuel rails
Carbon intake kit (formula one spec prepeg carbon)
Carbon ic piping kit (formula one spec prepeg carbon)

Every single Whiteline component available has been installed:

A little look of the DLC pistons in the block:

Some more gold reflectors:

Sneak pic of the diff cooler:

1st run is stock, 2nd is when we bring the car a few months ago (exhaust/intake/fuel pumps and rails but stock injectors/turbos/engine) with the injectors at their limits and 3rd is with the built engine and turbine kit (21psi).
All these are on pump gass (97).

This is the limit of the injectors (90% IDC) but we went to a little try.
For the fun we tried a bit more solenoid duty cycle resulting to 2 bar of boost ... and 1035hp at the hubs ... still on 97 pump gas but way out of fuel so that's the only run we did at that power (did a dozen of runs per boost until te 787hp at the hubs but didn't felt like doing more at higher boost once reached 90% IDC).

Some more pics:

The new custom order Alcon fully floating discs (to be installed next week but already tested on another R35 we got and they're crazy good)

Carbon parts iin the engine bay to save about 3 kilos but mostly help thermal management ;-)

Some track action before the engine build and turbine kit that you might enjoy:

That was the week-end after I get the car (express break-in / express exhaust and tune) with just the exhaust and COBB AP custom tuned (still on MAF at that time):

this one was later vs McLaren MP4-12C vs MASERATI MC Stradale vs Exige Cup vs ...

There's also nice videos of our 350Z Twin Turbo making about the same power but with only 500 kilos less on the scales :) and only 2 wheel drive :)

If you like this ride and want to see quite some GT-R35 at SEMA please vote for this car on Facebook !!! : http://www.car-crazy...rection/186/FRA
She needs your help :)

I'd rather crush Ferrari's FF/458/FX-599 and Lambos on the track than bikes on a drag strip but we still might bring this one on a drag strip once or twice.
I might rather use my Twin GTX 350Z for a drag race as it's about the same power for just about 1000 pounds less heavy.

This isn't the basic GT800kit ;-) plus the head work has been quite big ;-)
Like I wrote, 800whp is the limit of the injectors (90% IDC) and 1035 was just a little try (quite super lean and fuel pressure going crazy down).
530hp stock was equal to 435whp so the regular run is still in between 950-1000hp at the cranck which is more than enough for us as with 250 less horse power we were already able to fight GT2-RS and MP4-12C. This is more than what I do need already :)

No Lag bewteen 2500 and 3000 as you can see on the first dyno pulls ... on the 1035 one the late spool is just due to beeing chicken at the begining of the run due to the fuel system.

Full engine and coolers and trans upgrade (6 gears reinforced, pro max clutch and so on) and the new fuel system coming you go for 70K including labor and quite a few fluid changes (we did 4 of them for the breakin and tune to be sure) but excluding wheels/tires/brakes/chassis work and carbon bits to come so about 85K total (still including labor).

I'm sure we can go for a lot cheaper for a road version (oil cooler, water radiator, diff cooler, diffs, dlc treatments, ceramic coatings, gold reflectors out and inox instead of titanium) for about 55K including labor and fluids.

I was honestly hesitating a lot between Alpha 9 and Alpha 10 ... which "I LOVE" as I drove them and this is just in between as much for performance and for pricing.
I wanted just above Alpha 9 but not as hard as Alpha 10 and ended up with something in between for a cost above Alpha 10 but including a lot of heat and thermal treatment/management systems that I needed for the track as track days I do are like 6 to 10 sessions of 30 minutes non stop.

The main reason I went for the GT800 kit is that if you take modified stock turbos-manifold + down-pipes + turbine inlets + wastegates you end up with about the same price which brings the GT800 kit to a very nice price and I was about to do an alpha 9 with GT800 kit but then went for dlc coatings and head porting and cams ... and ... and ...

I'm still in love with my result though and would probably do it again but I know I'm gonna want more anytime soon (I used to say in a year or two but I know I'm not LOL) and the Alpha Omega is something I'm seriously considering (still with my extra "and... and... and..." :)

You know what? I bet my ass there are at least dozens of people who are seriously considering the Alpha Omega (ΑΩ). After all, it is the Alpha and the Omega in the GTR world!

Thing is that I'm quite going crazy with my cars as I'm without kids and got 350Z twin GTX3076, R35 GT800+ and Juke 1.6L turbo tuned + cars that are not mine but that I can use everyday (1 series tuned and Suzuki Swift) so I need to sell a few a before doing mods I need (want):

A 997 TURBO for everyday to replace the R35, an X6 to replace the Juke and an Alpha Omega fully striped out (at just 1bar for the track and 2bar for drag) to replace the 350Z :) ... and now I'm waking up LOL

Very nice! Great build, write-up, pics and vids!

I would love to track at Paul Ricard one day. That track looks beautiful. I've only tracked at BMW's facility in Miramas and while it's only 100km away, it isn't close to Paul Ricard.

I'm a performance parts distributor for many brands named MONSTAKA (ALPHA AMS / HKS / COSWORTH / COBB / ECUTEK / UPREV / HALTECH / MOTEC / HP TUNERS / WHITELINE / ALCON / GFB / TEIN /...) and we're about to get DODSON certified too but engine build itself was performed like said in the topic by Advanced Motorsport in Silverstone as we are used to work wit them when engine specs are quite "custom".

I spent years thinking about Laguna Seca like you might think about Paul Ricard and finaly did it with Skip Barber for a few days ... one of the best souvenirs of my life ... maybe you can plan a trip and rent a track car there !!!
Dreams are to be experienced and usualy our best souvenirs !!!
