Planning to buy a GTR ( 2012 or wait for 2013 )

Hi guys,

I am planning to buy a GTR, its my dream car. I am currently driving 2007 impreza STi, I am happy with it. All my friends telling to wait and not to rush, because Porsche is releasing new cars, and corvette might release their 600hp car. I think Nissan working on Spec R GTR ( lighter more power).

I feel so confused, because I already got the money, GTRs are rare now :(

I need your advise, what I should do buy 2012 GTR or be patient ?

as for the specR...yeah that is not gonna happen in the US for the 2013... your looking at 10-15hp or something like that...

black editions are about all thats left for 2012... so that might be a factor on if you want to wait or not
I was in the exact situation as you. Same conundrum.

I was always a Porsche guy since I was 10 years old and owned my first new Porsche at 27 years old. Bought a second one at 31. My third was always going to be a Turbo S until I read up on the GTR. Suddenly a light went off in my mind! I could have the same performance in a car that is HALF the price and that will not bite me in the ass if I overdrove it.

I hummed and hawwed over the GTR Black Edition this past spring and called up several dealers but Summer came and other priorities came up, namely holidays. So I forgot about the GTR. Then the tsunami hit. Then the Black Edition became rare. Very rare. And the reviews kep saying how great the 2012 was compared to the 2011. It made me want the 2012 even more! I also debated to wait. Something better always comes along... Just like the next iPhone or MacBookPro. Thinking that way, I will wait FOREVER!!! Also, one dealership told me that the 2013 will come out with the Spec-V for 30,000CAN$ more. That did it for me. Placed my deposit in MAY. Dealer just called last week. I am getting my 2012 BE in 1 week!

Happy hunting.

Thanks.
Have you ever driven a 911? Sometimes scary in the wet at highway speeds ( or more LOL!) especially in curves. I do lapping so I am confident but I know when a car can be overpowering.
I am not fond of the pucker factor and am OK with all the electronic nannies in the GTR. They make you look like a better driver and the car is much easier to drive. For me, it is a no-brainer.
Thanks.

my brother has 2010 GT3 RS, it's really fun to drive. But I haven't driven GTR yet
