Hello,

Lurking the forums for a while. Currently in a 2011 370z. Want to make the move to a GTR, think it's the best thing todo VS staying in my 370z and dumping 10K in for a TT, plus all the other cost-associated mods.

Looking at a 2009 GTR out of state (I'm in NY) - roughly 17K miles (so 3 year warranty almost up at start of year) 5 year power-train remaining. Got the price to 65,500, dealer doesn't seem able to move past that.

All the posts I've been reading seem to say the price should be closer to 61/62k. I'll be trading in my 370z for 29.5k and parting out all my aftermarket items.

Is ~65k good, or should I walk away if the dealer won't bring it down?
Dealer is charging additional money for extended warranty and/or maintenance. Those will be purchased separate.
I'm doing research now to see what is best for an '09. Dealer mentioned skipping extended warranty and getting a maintenance package.

TIA, hope to be a new owner soon, but can't let the excitement cloud my decision making.

UPDATE: Now that I've did some research on the forums, appears the maintenance warranty is not worth it unless they throw it in, which they are not. I will forgo this. I still need to research on the extended nissan warranty.

UPDATE: Going to ask about the 18k service, records, and if it has ever been launched. It is a single owner, I know that.

Great question. I was just reading another thread and that was a new question I had for the dealer (18k service / tires / fluids).
It IS a dealer, so they probably won't budge on price 5k as a lot of threads are saying, maybe 63.5k I'd be happy at that. Let's see, I'm waiting for a response from the dealer.

I'd do 62-63k on it. A lot of people here (including myself) wish to get the car as cheap as possible but I've given up on that. If the car is clean and is priced decently I am moving on it. I just put a deposit on one with 21k miles. I am getting it for $60.5k and I am happy with that, clean carfax, one owner, new tires.

Yeah, it's hard to get the price you want. I think that's always going to be the case - and of course, someone, somewhere will have always gotten a "better deal".
I actually got to speak to the previous owner - awesome guy, enlightening experience. He didn't try to sell me on the '09 at all - in fact, he bought an 12 just says ago and was saying I should seriously consider that.

I would offer 64 and make them perform the 18K mile service.....see what they say....
Right on - they are running the #'s tomorrow, I'll definitely bring that up.

From my own research, that price isnt have bad due to 17k miles. The best I could find was a 09 with 22k miles on it for 61k. I would agree with gilly6993, offer 64 and have them perform the 18k!

18k service is already been done - Dealer won't budge on the 66k price.
weaksauce, PMing you now.

TR6 - Tried, they wouldn't budge. The have "offers" coming in and have no reason to lower price for me.

You have to make a decision then....you could look around to save a few grand or suck it up and pay the 66....there are some people that will spend months looking for the right car at the right price where there are others that just say they want to start driving now.....I'm the latter....the few grand that could be saved is long forgotten once you get behind the wheel.....best of luck

gilly6993 - That's the truth man. Love the color, interior and car has a great history. Can always wish to save money ...
Dealer is running #s now, waiting for final package and then will have to make a decision.

Thanks again to everyone for the feedback.

Theres a lower mileage 11 with a list of mods on these forums for 74. I would say If you planned to mod and like his mods buy the newer year.

65 plus mods would place u in same price range. 2011 benefit still under warranty although it might be a fight I think it has a cobb. Better resale since it's newer. Easier to get a loan on a newer model year car.

I've seen 09 low 60s. '10 65-74k. 11 72-80k. '12 82-94k used

If your not picky deals are there from private owners. Dealers not so much. They know demand is high and supply is low

Where in NY are you?

If you're looking for a white one, there's one here by me in Massachusetts going for cheap. 28k miles. Slightly modded.

It's been on the market for about 2.5 months. Been watching him lower the price.

@ Konaforever - I'm in Brooklyn NY - that seems like a really good price for that white one. And wow, white looks great (IMO). And tasteful mods...

@ TR6 - Thank you.

@ monEmakinDave - For sure - If I wasn't doing trade-in (tax benefit) plus needed some financing I would w/out a doubt do private sale. This car had the 18k service done and that cost includes all taxes, title, etc.
I'm waiting for the final out the door # w/financing & extended warranty - should have that information tomorrow.

Thanks again for the info everyone.

Not doing the sale - going to drive the Z a bit longer, get a new job (my boss /CTO just quit and I'm leaving too), and wait till Spring or Fall and possibly get a 2012 if the price is right. I'll also come to the table w/a lot more cash - don't want to finance and get slammed w/points.

Thanks again to everyone. I'll continue to loiter on the forum.
