race offer questions
A guy offered to race me in a stock 2006 Acura TL manual. He wants a shorter track of three car lengths. I dont know how long the acura is but will find out and post the exact numbers. This will be a 1/4 mile race.
My car is a cobb stage 2 93 map. My car has no other performance mods other than mid pipe and map.
I should be able to jump right on him shouldnt I?

(in other words, it shouldn't even be a race to you...)
I mean as far I could figure I would make that distance up like really fast and then pull away, but I just wanted to make sure I wasnt over thinking this like I tend to do sometimes.

I have a 370Z as my DD and it rund mid to high 13's at 104 MPH in the quarter mile. My GT-R ran 104 MPH at the 1/8th mile at about 7.2 seconds.
Each tenth is worth at least a half a car if not a full car by the time you hit the towers - so you're looking at at least 15 cars (closer to 30+) if you line up equally.
Without going into that much detail - thats alot.
I find the entire concept bizzare - does this guy suffer from delusions of grandeur? He would have a hard time beating my 370 with a 3 car lead.

Ok, I just needed to confirm that I was looking at this the right way. My original reaction was "why in the hell he wanna race?"

Thats when I knew I was over thinking this and that its clearcut that I will catch up to him at prolly around 55 mph and then pull very hard and fast. Som I wanted to make sure I'm not missing something as well. Its clear that this guy just wants to race kinda like the race last weekend down in florida against the bike. He atleast had a SLIGHT chance if rev limiter was hit a couple times
The real bet is by how many car lengths you will win. I say 12

My friend had tl type s back in the day with a 75 shot of n20 and it ran 13.5 @ 103 ..lol
