Hey guys, here's a headlight mod for my car. I decided to get rid of the chrome that comes with these lights. Here are some before and after shots.............enjoy

I'll post pics once I get a decent photo shoot going of my car..........

I thought these were two separate pieces

Turn Signal (nasty Chrome)

Painted a gloss black

After mounting the headlights housings, these rings stuck out like a sore thumb, so I also painted these a gloss black

It looks good, I would have done carbon fiber inside but the quality of your work was nice.

You're doing what I did, for my (Edit: Reminded by fiancé- now traded) rx8: http://www.rx8club.c...ad.php?t=213651

The only thing I can notice is that your front turning signals won't be bright. I was pulled over for not having my turning signal on one night, which made me crack open my headlamps again to strip the paint off the signal reflector.

I can't see the shroud rings showing up, since the chrome shroud would cover the rings below:

Good job, i was wondering if someone would do this to their GT-R

^ no, it doesn't completely cover the rings, thats why they were painted, I also get a lot of reflection with the turn signal because of the gloss black.......it's not 100%, but how often do you use the turn signals lol

I'm surprised, but that's good to know. I use my turning signals a lot - stop signs, stop lights, changing lanes and the like.

best part is - it's not noticeably illegal! Atleast down here, cops pinch for tinted headlamps.

Looks really good.
Kinda like a tinted headlight but the light output is not affected
He had affected light output by painting the reflectors either side of the projector lense which give off a wide beam

kudos for a job well done, I haven't baled headlights in years and even then was never brave enough to use originals
