I'm going to ask the obvious just to make sure. Have you tried charging the FOB in the car?

Pretty sure the fob doesn't charge in the car slot. Besides, replaceable batteries do not recharge.
It's pretty easy.
Take the manual key out, then split the fob open from top. You can use your nails or a small knife.

The batteries are a couple of bucks....how much can you possibly save on ebay....
If you have a good relationship with your dealership, they will replace them for free.
I was bored, here you go.

Don't mind the radio...

Oh wow...learned something new. A bit disappointing though. It seems like most cars that have that, it charges the FOB.

Me 2. Split the FOB using a box cutter.
BigLots have this battry for $2 and a set of four.
this was helpful... took a bit of fiddling to open, but between fingernails, a butterknife, and a box cutter, the box cutter worked out best. There are some instructions on the interweb that tell you do put a screwdriver in the manual key slot... don't do that, definitely not how these guys are supposed to open.

If I remember right, the manual states that in the case where the key fob battery is discharge..insert key fob in slot to allow the car to be started...then replace battery. They are not rechargeable.

Agree, following the manual will result in damage to your key.
Go to your local Nissan (GTR) Dealer, pay $8 for them to replace it (like I just did). Are you seriously trying to save less than $8 on a key for a $100k car?
