Replacing Studs on rear for spacers

Any idea of the level of work involved in replacing studs with longer ones to facilitate installing spacers on the rear wheels (stock suspension)? How are they attached behind what looks to be the hub cover (held on by 10 nuts around the studs)? Just wondering if it can be done at home. Anyone have experience doing this?

Just get spacers that already have the studs in them. There are many brands available like that.
