If you haven't heard of Rob Harper, he is a free lance tuner out of Atlanta, GA who currently tunes for TopSpeed and several other performance shops.

His name has been frequently mentioned among the vendor circle as doing a fantastic job, and we're happy to have him now offering e-tunes for our performance packages in addition.

Yesterday, Rob told me they had a SBD700 GTR owner who was going to swap out his 3.5" catted midpipe for TSM's 3.5" Catless/Resonated Midpipe....and Rob was going to re-tune on Ecutek.

Note: SBD700 Kit now includes a 4" Exhaust w/ 4" Non-Resonated Midpipe standard.

Needless to say very impressed with the dyno data, which Rob shared with me was the highest stock turbo 93 octane octane car he can recall on TSM's dyno.

Customer Mod List:

SBD 3" Intakes w/ Removable Brackets
SBD 3.5" Race Spec Exhaust
SBD 3" Cast Catless Downpipes
TSM 3.5" Catless Resonated Midpipe
Denso 265lph Fuel Pumps
Bosch 1050cc Injectors w/ PNP Harnesses
SBD Speed Density Plug-N-Play Conversion Kit
SBD 50mm CNC VTA Blow-Off Valves
SBD CNC Block-Off Plugs for OEM Inlets

Ecutek Speed Density E-Tune by Rob Harper on 93 Octane

Thanks for sharing the dyno data and congrats to the customer!

Niice. Way to keep the torque down, but steady too... to keep things safe.

Isnt the bigger deal here that he picked up 100hp over the last tune? I assume the last tune is what he originally got with his SBD700 package... I hope that tuner who did the original tune would have to be dropped from etuning other SBD cars as he is doing you a disservice.

Rob is awesome by the way!

Since the cats were removed and parts were changed, it's not fair to throw anyone under the bus.

I'd rather celebrate Rob's continued success and welcome him to our list of FREE tuner options at check-out.

Customer had purchased an AAM Catted/Resonated Midpipe post purchase, probably to quieten things further......but had TSM swap back in a Resonated Catless Midpipe according to what Rob told me.

Regardless of that, I'm not going to derail this thread in an attempt to bash another vendor's e-tune.

The main objective here is to A.) Welcome Rob to SBD and B.) Highlight Rob's ability to tune our packages.

We work with numerous tuners all over the country, and Rob will be one more solid option to pick from when buying our complete power packages.

Not to mention that this dyno was with STD correction. The other may have been SAE and thats probably around a 4 % difference ( over 24 whp)

I dynoed 561 whp at local dyno shop long time ago and raced a car dynoed at a shop facility at 560 whp. At the same track, same day, same time, I out trapped him by 4.5 mph consistently (I have more mods). Dynojet shouldn't have any elevation compensation but shops leave it for big numbers. Bottom line is performance on the street/track.

Same dyno, same day.

Obviously different tuning for a Catted vs non-Catted Midpipe.

At the end of the day, again, just wanted to give Rob some love and show HIS results tuning one of our packages.

Again, happy to be working with him and he's already working on a few tunes for our customers that purchased this week.

The Forum conspiracy theories are getting pretty good

Without correction factors how would I explain significant power differences from one car to other when I dyno one in the heat of the day and the other at midnight (which I do almost every day). This dyno is also at 1200ft elevation, which would make uncorrected numbers much lower than a shop as sea level. A lot of tuners (and I mean most) make a glory pass to make a big number then turn it down, instead of blaming the dyno you should be looking at the tuner of the car you beat. I don't chase numbers on the dyno, real world performance is what keeps me in business.

Another SBD700 93oct car I remotely tuned this weekend on 20" street tires, not record breaking but a solid trap.
