SCCA Pro Finale 2011

Trailers all packed and Laurie and I will be leaving tommorow AM for Lincoln, NE for the Pro Finale this weekend and subsequently Nationals next week.

For the Pro, I'll be running ASP in a field of 10 made up of Vettes and Lotti. Laurie will be running L2 which is an indexed class of 17 drivers and includes everything from low power focii to 1800lb purpose built rotary powered mod cars. Having one two events, I currently am Tied for 1st place in points with Mike 'Junior' Johnson who is running a well prepared C6 Z06 and is one of the owners of Evolution Autocross schools(http://evoschool.com/) as well as a past champion. More than likley the winner will be the one who wins the FInale, but due to some strange new rules this year, it will be possible to win on points, but not win the finale event. Car is running great and based on results to date, I feel pretty good, but Junior is a great driver.

For nationals next week, Laurie will run ASPL along with Co Driver Jodi Fordahl and I'll be joined by troy (Spokes on the forums) as my codriver in ASP.

Nice, the car fits like a glove in there...the Pro is yours man, I promise. You've been driving super solid this year and so has Laurie. I'm just lucky to get to join you guys for Nationals, thanks again. See you all in Lincoln next week. FTW

Day one at the pro in the bag, Did'nt quite go as well as I had Hoped. I'm sitting in 3rd spot, 3 tenths behind Joe Tharpe in a C5 Z06. He in turn is .5 behind Junior.

Fast course, but more places to loose time then was immedietly apparent. Car feels good on the concrete, but definelty would have beenfited from the wide front tires that were in the origianl plan 8)

Still think I can move up to at least second tommorow if I can string a couple of good runs together.

For those that don't do pros, it's a unique format with two mirror image AutoCross course setup side by Side with a Drag Style start. In each of the 3 sessions, you get 4 runs, ,two on each side and your total time is the sume of your best run on each side from any session. Two sessions were done today, and there is one more tommorow,so I'll get 2 more shots at each side. Since junior won two sesssions today, he secured 20 bonus pts which means even if someone were to beat him tommorow, if he comes in second, he will win the season.

No 315s?

Just go all out tomorrow--you're not that far out of P1. I was able to make up 1.3 a few years ago @ a Tour--YOU CAN DO IT!

You definitely need the 315's on the front... game changer on our '08 Z-06 as well.

I have the 315's 8)

The plan was to flare the fronts and go with 335's 8) Next year.....

Looked at the video more and there's time out there...rally need to just string one good one together on eah side.

Managed to find some time on sunday, but the vettes found more. Wound up in 4th place at the Finale. Wound up 2nd overall for the year in ASP behind Junior. Not what I had hoped for, but certainly a good result. Car felt good as always, But I needed to push it more on the conrete.

ASP Runs Tues/Weds for the big show. Laure and Jodi will be running 2nd heat. Troy and I fourth. We'll be starting on the east course which is very technical, but has some good power spots. If you enjoyed my announcing, I'll be the voice behind the action during Heat 1 which includes the always fast SSM class as well as FSL, FJA and FJB.
