Just finishing up my day at work bringing my landscaping truck and trailer back home, some 80 year old man traveling down the highway next to me in the right lane, decides he just realized he was supposed to make a left at the block, so he slams on his brakes and cuts across the highway in front of me. Lets just say things didn't work out too well. smashed his car at about 55 mph, i never even saw him or hit the brakes, and pushed him about 150 feet into another car on the oncoming traffic side that was parked at the turning arrow. UGH.. just said, wow finally paid off my business and bills and now i can start to get ahead in the game.

Few witnesses signed statements saying I had no where to go an was not at fault... One guy was a firefighter that was driving behind the guy

sorry to hear man. glad to see that there were witnesses who can see you were not at fault. i hate those jerk offs who cut across the highway all of the sudden to make it to their off-ramp. my dad always told me that if i'm ever in that situation, to just get off at the next one and turn around. people are too selfish and don't think. i know this was on the street but you get the idea.

yea i hopped right out of the truck... i tried to explain to everyone i felt like i hit a Shopping cart.... i mean it was more then that cause everything in my trailer flew around pretty good, but i didn't feel it really at all... my rig was about 20-22000 lbs.... his car was like 4200.... so it wasn't a fair fight... just pissed about my down time ... Fall clean up season is about 3 weeks away. Thats my big money maker

yea i don't even know what insurance company he has yet... it says on my police field report Unknown cause they didn't get it from him yet, but i requested the full report which can take up to 2 weeks now.. UGH...

to top it off i called my insurance company to talk to him, and he's like you only have liability on your truck, I'm like no way, i never do not fully cover my vehicles, and he's like nope just liability is all you put on you said to get the lowest price possible.

Which i said for the full coverage lol. Luckily i have 2 witness statements saying I'm not at fault at all so, the said it should not be an issue having the other guys company covering it. I had a nice lil talk with my state farm agent and said, no matter what always put full coverage on my vehicles... truck was like 40,000 dollars i don't know why he would think i wouldn't want full coverage. Makes no sense

Damn! Sorry to hear about this Mark. Some people have complete disregard while driving. Glad you are all right and hopefully this wont slow business down for you - I know you'll be busy this fall. Good luck at getting everything straightened out!
