I just want to share some pictures and information on the Seibon dry carbon wing..so you can judge if this quality is good enough for you or not.. just in case you decide to go with other more expensive brands. I purchased this for $1300USD brand new eBay best offer... The wing in the pictures has been used for about 4months and had been in hot sun, rain etc.. and to me it is still perfectly shaped like brand new.
The wing itself, the finish is near perfect (except for some details that I'll talk about later), weights at 3kg..its lighter than OEM, its strong, rigid, no flex..however I had to do some DIY to get it fitted properly like OEM.
1) Some minor sanding down of middle assembly (the middle wing support) as the internal frame wasnt perfectly molded.. but I suspect this would vary piece to piece.. this is internal so you will not be able to see the sanding down from outside.
2) 3M double sided tape for the three mounting points
3) Some sponge like narrow tape to replace the OEM ones, this goes around the edge of the mounting points.. to stop air/water getting thru between the thin gaps of the mounting and boot..and should stop any unwanted vibrations.
4) I reused all of the black OEM screws, instead of the silver ones that came with the wing...except where they are not compatible.
5) Black or Carbon stickers to cover the screw holes
For the little details that I mentioned before, I cant judge if this is good or not, because it might be the carbon manufacturing limitation in itself.. if you imagine the profile of the wing cut in half thru the middle, you can imagine the aerofoil has the top layer and bottom layer, for Seibon..the carbon weave is not one single piece, there is top weave and bottom weave, and joins at the front edge and rear edge of aerofoil.. I am not sure if other brands or OEM are manufactured the same way..
All in all, Im very happy with the purchase..although it needed some minor fitting adjustments. If $1300USD is not too much for you for Dry carbon wing.. this is it... Although I would buy Rundance Varis wing if I could do it again.. but thats overs $3000USD
