One of the dealers I was speaking to was eluding to the fact that he had a guy who could install something that blocks laser and radar so if someone is setting up a speed trap they could not get a reading on the car and if you got a ticket the company would pay for it

Does anyone have some ideas on what type of product this is, and a couple reputable brands that make equipment like this?

Lazer jammers are common in the GTR community. I dont personally have one installed but im sure some guys can chime in on their jammer of choice and experience using them. As for radar, im not aware of any product that can "Block" them but there's plenty of Radar Detectors on the market. They will give you a warning way ahead of time to tell you to slow down before the cop can see you. For that i suggest a Valentine 1.

Pairing up a Radar Detector and a Lazer Jammer is your best defense against getting caught. Not sure what your location is but make sure these devices are legal to use in your area before you go out and buy.

ALP Quad Laser Jammer is what you want. You can also add on a 9500ci radar detector head to the ALP for around $600.

As Urban said Radar Jamming isn't really possible. Just early radar detection.

Best Setup would be Beltronics STIR+ Radar Detector and ALP Quad Laser Jammer.

There most certainly are radar blockers, but they are HIGHLY illegal. If I were running one I would absolutely avoid mentioning it in public and keep it quiet.

Laser jammers, the ALP is the best. I like the combination with the Valentine 1 radar detector, and Waze for up to the minute GPS based alerts. Almost 100% unbeatable combination

While they do exist illegally they don't tend to work very well. Just about all radar guns operate on Ka band and from the article below the jammers didn't live up to jamming Ka.

Radar blockers are actually a thing? daaammmmmmmm.

I will admit that I was skeptical at first when I bought the V1 but man that little box of magic has saved me a lot of money and points on my license.

Another vote for Valentine 1 here. Bought mine in 2005 when I bought a Z06 and the thing has remained flawless for 10 years now. Paid for itself probably a thousand times over.

What kind of success rate do you guys get with your radar detectors? I'm running the beltronics sti-r plus system with quad hp laser jammers.. I took a four hour trip over the summer during Labor Day weekend, when cops are out in full force, and the radar picked up about 2 out of 10 cops on average... If that.. The jammer jammed two guns total. These are cops who were sitting on the side clocking people. I get a tad bit better results driving around town, from cops who are running radar/laser in their cars while moving. I rotated through the modes, but it didn't seem to make any difference.

LOL, in ATL suburbs my V1 is pretty much useless, since all local PDs and state troopers use laser around here. Laser jammer is a must. I've gotten a few seconds worth of warning with Ka band radar driving through north Georgia, enough to slow down.

On trips to Florida panhandle through rural Alabama I literally knew of local yokels running their X (yes, X) and K band radar for MILES ahead.

It all depends on where you drive.

HAHA!! I was cruising through Greenville, Alabama, and was in the middle of nowhere, and sure enough, I get a single blip of an X-band indication. I thought, "surely not..." I'll be damned if a cop wasn't about 3 miles ahead of me sitting on the side of the road I think that was the ONLY time I found a cop via X-band. #worthit

Oh yea, I'm in Atlanta about once every 3 months or so and I have yet to get a laser return. I get plenty of them from those damn Infiniti full size SUV's though!

I have the shops by me recommending 5 headed laser (3 front 2 back) placement and k40 for radar because it recognizes active / passive driver land control won't false alarm for that and can be mounted more stealth like

For install + equipment does 6k ish should right for a good install?

Don't forget the apps as well like WAZE or Escort Live in combination with everything said previously. Definitely took care of me several times.

I don't know but some of you might think I'm joking. I have one of those old school ones that you attach to your windshield and it's got the power wire running to the cigarette lighter thing. It's called Rocky Mountain and it does in fact have a jammer in itself and works very good for only $250. I've had my first one I bought for about 8 years and after that I bought 4 more and they're in all of my vehicles and to be honest during this time with owning the radars I haven't been pulled over for speed even once. When buying the product in the paperwork it says if your speed is no more than 10 miles over the posted speed limit and you get a fine they will cover your tickets. It catches 360 degrees all around, so it doesn't matter if his coming from the back, side or front and the radar is on it works great. Sounds fishy but I'm telling you the truth them old school radars of this brand are golden! If you need anymore info or photos of the product pm me. Also you can get a bracket to hook it up to your rear view mirror and wire it there and will look even better.
