hmm... would love to see all the notes from this interview/discussion. The flow of the article is very disjointed.

So then they make a high performance version of the car, and pull 132 lbs out of it....
see... you still don't get it... they pull out 132 lbs of weight but *add* 132 lbs of downforce with a new wing. Clearly that must be the case or we have a maniac running the show over at Nissan!

132lbs isn't a huge amount when the entire package is tipping 4000.

But, i;m not drinking the Kool Aid either. He's got his marketing hat on when talking about weight.

Remember this: "GTR doesn't have launch control"

(it's for getting out of snow and mud... at 3800rpm)

Some people should have the wherewithall to recognise what's PR spin, and what isn't.

^ Frankly I wouldn't argue with Mizuno either, seeing as he's the most experienced out of us all. If he says the car needs the weight, I believe him. If people say otherwise, I'd like to see them build a better, faster, safer, more comfortable GT-R. There are critics everywhere, and apparently nobody understands physics like Mizuno san.

Are you guys really going to argue that Mizuno-san is wrong? As they have said in the past, they didn't bend the rules of physics, they applied them properly. The fact that Ferrari's supercomputers can't resolve how the GTR can be this fast means that they don't fully understand the physics of how it all works. The added weight allows better continuous traction in combination with good aerodynamics. Loss of weight could cause dininished traction if it unloads the driven wheels too much. Clearly it works...just look at the results!

"All German cars are high-quality and high-price. American cars are cheaper and not as good. Italian cars are eccentric but unreliable."

He is damn right! Italian cars catch fire (ferrari FTW), American cars are cheap (Z06) and German cars are..... rip-offs. OK, I drive a German car too, but that doesn't count because it is a former Czech car!
