Hi, I am going to install Top Secret Intake Manifold, oil catch tank and water reserve tank in a couple of days...so I just want to know if the car need to be tuned again after installing the aftermarket intake manifold? I would really appreciate some information and advice...thank you...

^^^ I did not need to tune the car after the installation. There were no check engine lights or anything even after I drive the car. However, I will tune the car to get the best outcomes out of the intake manifold.

I know a couple of guys who needed a tune after installing a larger intake manifold on their GTRs

Thanks for the kind words guys. I am very excited myself. The package just arrived a few days ago and I haven't even open it yet. I will post detail pictures during the installation. I ordered it from Keith from MB Motors in Singapore. I am sure he can get you with very good price.

Since the internet speed here is very slow I can only provide the links of the pictures from photo bucket.

'Installation'

-The installation was not very hard according to what I saw but I would say that you should ask someone with experience to do it. It comes with its own ic piping. The piping size is 2.75'' irrc but definitely not 3''. It needs to be modified to fit the AMS intercooler. It can fit the stock modified throttle bodies nicely. It would fit the Greddy intercooler nicely. Please note that this manifold 'does not' fit stock bonnet with Stock NACA duct Inlet pipe. You will have to cut off the inlet side of the NACA duct under the bonnet in order to fit this manifold as it is much bigger and taller than stock manifold. So it affects the cooling of the engine a lot as it takes away the air directed into the engine baby. I am sure this intake manifold is meant for Top Secret Hood only or other aftermarket hoods which does not have air inlet from NACA duct. I will let you know after I install the Top Secret Hood which will be around end of this month whether it fits well with this intake manifold.

'Quality and Look'

-The quality and the look of the manifold is good and the intention to details but I would say that you are paying - $7000 more for the brand. It is much bigger than the stock manifold. The oil catch tank and the water reserve tank looks much better and shinier than the manifold. The water reserve tank have a lot more water storage than the stock one. All items need to be kept really clean and shiny otherwise they will not look as good.

'Performance'

-I can not give full feedbacks since I have not tune the car yet as I am still waiting for my tuner to come down to do the tuning. However, one noticeable thing is the car now revs much quicker as in it is very noticeable. Also now the car can revs to 5k as I was only able to rev it to 4k before. Even before tuning the car, I could feel a bit more response in the car when I drive it and maybe a little more power as well. I haven't actually drive really hard so maybe I can comment more after I have. My friend who is also an experienced tuner did the installation for me and he said that it will definitely be better performance wise comparing to the stock manifold.

'Overall Comment'

I am very happy with it as it does not only make a huge difference to the look of my engine bay but it also give noticeable performance difference. Well at least for my liking, as I like response. However, the price is a bit too high and If I am not wrong, it is more expensive than other intake manifold currently out in the market like AMS, Greddy, JUN. It may look better but different people may have different taste. As for the performance it gives, I do not think that it will make much difference with other good brands. However, I will update this thread after I tune the car and get the actual figures of how much hp it gives and what other difference it makes. But at the moment, I can definitely feel the difference in throttle response and response of the car. Car feels a lot more responsive and revs much quicker.

I am sorry for the long comment and my english as it is not my first language. I just wanted to give some feedbacks to people who wanted to know. Thank you.
