Report about Topspeed Ukraine team at RDRC Russian Drag Racing Championship in Grozniy, Chechnya 2015.
At the Grozniy Race we made 8 runs, car feels good, and this is one of the things that makes me happy.
First day qualification run we spin the tires so the run was not as good, 8.5, but the surprize was afterwards. the mechanics forgot to take out the safety pin from chute so I went to the end of the track, saying "thank you" on camera to my crew

Next day qualification run we ran 8.3, but again car went sideways so I had to release throttle, make it streight, and finish. so the run was not clean again:
At the end of qualification we went on the track again, again the car went sideways but i managed to keep it in the track and not releasing the throttle and the result was 7.71, with really low 30psi boost and with terrible 1.27 60feet. we usually make 1.15-1.18 60feet times. so this run could be easy 7.5 if spooled right. more to say, our rear tires are 2 years old and 1mm thread left, that also makes it bad for the launch. it was last race of the year so we decided not to change the tires for it unfortunatelly.

Then in the quaterfinal run we ran 7.8 times with same boost but with even worth 1.37 60feet as not spooled enough off the line.

After that we have a CRAZY semifinal, when i "sleeped" the light and had a terrible 0.55 reaction time, and when i started to pass the opponents car, i noticed that he is literaly drives into my car from his lane into mine. I had to drive at about 140mhp out the track into the grass and back sideways into the finish line. this was one of the craziest runs i had. and still managed 8.8 time

At the Final, we ran agains the Dmitry R35, fastest R35 in Europe. I raised boost by 3-5 more psi, but this made my car to slide sideways even worth, so it was a scary run also as i hit the grass at even faster speed, released the throttle for 2-2.5sec acording to logs, abd managed to make 7.9 run.

When we got back home we found out that the wrong alignment and steering settings were the reason for the car to drive like crazy around. so it was our settings mistake. what makes me really happy, that with those many powerfull runs, the setup we made, VR38 with powerglide in the R32 body works perfect. nothing broke, everything hold up to the runs fine, and runs are consistant and the car really is much easier to drive compare to previouse setup we had. as mentioned before, we are still using the car at low boost mode, 30-33 psi. for the next races we are planning to finally change from stock intake manifold to the aftermarket units, which would easily gain us another 100hp, plus put the new tires in, as drinving on 2 years old slicks is not a best way to have grip and 60ft time, and raise to boost to where is have to be, 45-50psi. possibly we are planning to use nitrouse not only to spool but during the run to spray some of it
Hope all this result into good times and run good races. Makes me really happy that all the work we done in puting this new engine/transmition combo is working good for now!
