To be honest, Mizuno San alluded to this. When asked why Nissan would not install later LC logic on earlier cars, he mentioned something about drivetrain strength. His comment was moderately disregarded in the community as "the company line". I sleep a little better with LC5+ on my car, Since I have a DBA transmission, courtesy of Nissan, but have pondered it from time to time. Sorry for clogging up the thread with my thoughts. I also had nothing other than LC2 on my CBA transmission like you. We'll see what happens, but at least the forks are replaceable with a better Dodson part.

When I had LC5/6 loaded up and in R mode the car shifted HARD at redline. My friends cars also shift hard so it's not just my GT-R. With LC2 the shifts are soft even in R mode.

I went to the drag strip the other night and tested LC5 vs LC2 back to back. I lost at least 1mph and 1.5 tenths running LC2. It's definitely easier on the trans but the car is slower.

I would be willing to run LC5 down the strip in non R mode (for the trans) but it won't let me launch.

Personally, I'm sticking with LC2 from here on out. I'll just have to deal with the rough 1-2 shift and the clunky starts and sounds.

I have to say this is not my experience in my CBA with DBA trans. Maybe the newer trans have a different servo behavior, making the lc5 work on the DBA. I knoweth not surely.

To be honest, I am not a die hard GTR fan "yet",
Coming from Egear tranny on Lambo, this Nissan transmission feels wayyyyy better even with LC2 on CBA trans (MY2010).
I loaded LC5, and it was night and day difference and I am going to stick with that.

Mine failed last week. what is the difference between cba and dba transmissions

They changed it out with a brand new 2012 Trans. Took 10 days from start to finish and was given a rental car.
What the hell. I had the same cobb code, with only cobb ap and got denied. This is grounds for discrimination ?

I am most curious to see how many of these that were running cobb - what boost levels were you running?

I'm running 18psi at peak, and that seems to be the magic number. It was rejected for "overboosting" - but many others seem to be accepted.

Sorry to hear about your misfortune. My failure likewise happened early in my ownership, ~45 days after ownership. My replacement took a little over 3 weeks from start to finish. Of course this was last year, when lots of parts, including the transmission, were hard to find in America due to manufacturing and supply issues in Japan from both the tsunami and nuclear reactor events.

Due to significantly modified 2012 transmission because of my lack of faith due to the FIRST failed transmission, we did not even try (failed sensor was a Dodson part)
