Hi all,

I'm a new member here.. Been reading on this forum since 2010 and said to myself why not be a member and share on this lovely forum.

Two weeks ago I noticed during long drives that sometimes the car gets a hiccup feeling during changing from 5th gear to 6 gear. And that happened a couple of times in auto mode, as if something is holding the gear to change to the higher gear,I would usually put it in manual to do the change. Since it happened only a couple of times I didn't worry much. Recently I was cruising around everything was fine and suddenly the car slowed down as if it was braking and got engine and trans malfuntion, I stopped the car and checked the codes manually (no cobb on the car) and got code P0729. Gears 1-3-5 only work, everything else looks ok, temps are ok. I'm guessing its a VB issue or something over there got stuck from dirt.

Btw I own a 2009 US model,30k miles on it. Stock,I never race or track my car, its my daily driver. Usually trans temps are below 96c. And changed the trans oil to HKS dctf 8k miles ago. Car run smooth everytime untill my recent problem.

Questions are.. Did anyone have the same issue before? Any suggestions on what to do? And how to solve this problem. Since I haven't had time to take it anywhere to check the trans. Who works on gr6 trans over here in UAE? I hope its not more than a VB cleaning job.

(Had an issue with a brand "X" rotors before and ill open a new topic about it later on.)

Regards
Waleed

Waleed, its a VB issue, had this happen 4 times on my GTR. There are plenty of shops that can clean the VB in UAE. One of them is a vendor here, Subzero. PM Mario for more info. Subzero

Thank you bro for the fast reply..

Do u have any idea how long does it take to do the VB cleaning? As in minor or major job.

Did u ever try the HKS dctf fluid? Any feedback
Thinking of how to stop this issue from coming back again, that's if its the VB issue .
It's a one day job I believe @ Subzero

As GT3240x2 stated PM Mario or give them call on 043236963

No problem

I havent tried the HKS fluid because it is the same fluid they share for the Mitsu EVO. I suggest and many will suggest to use Willall or Dodson for the transmission. They both work very well ( used them both ) and have proven results all over the board and many are happy with it including me. After cleaning the VB/Solenoids i suggest pouring Dodson or Willall fluids for the transmission. You can purchase the fluid from Subzero, they are Dodson dealers ( not sure if Willall as well ).

Thanks for the feedback bro "feek elkhair". I did pm Martin "willall guy" asked him about my problem and if those stoppers will do any good.
bringing back up a dead thread..

Any updates on the P0729?? I've had this a couple of times and when i reset it, life is all good for a few hours. Got sick of it, got the VB out and gave it a good clean. Car was good for two weeks and thats it. Now its back and im seriously thinking about installing those stoppers in that TSB that nissan recently came out with.

Opinions ya shabab!
