UCA with shims - Eccentric lock out recommended?

Hi guys,

If you go with a UCA system who works with shims, do you lock out the lower eccentric screw for camber alignment?
Or do we need it to make fine adjustment?

Thanks in advance

Depends on what you need. If you need minute adjustment then you probably don't want the lock out. Which UCA is that? There isn't too many option for the GTR that uses shims.

Thanks.

I bought no aftermarket UCA so far but i am in the final step in the decision process 😅

Finally there are two option and i will make my decision between these both Top Secret (shims) or SPL.

SPL was a long time in my mind to be the way to go because it’s just a very good product IMO.

However, priority number one for me is the functionality on the track. And therefor, i more like the shim systems because that‘s the way to go even in Motorsport.

BUT: Go with TS only make sense if you are able to lock out the oem eccentric system. Why? Because IMO the car is to heavy for these eccentric. a Feature you get if you go with SPL.

So, with focus on track ussage, what‘s the way to go? Both has pro and contras.
