Good question does anyone have an answer? I recently contacted an audio outlet and he quoted me 14k to redo my GTR sound system.....Does the factory system have enough power to drive these speakers without adding amp?
Wow, what all are you having them do? That seems really, really high! What components would they be using? I can't see it costing that much unless you are doing an all -out show-quality install with a bunch of custom fabrication and all top-shelf components.Good question does anyone have an answer? That's what I thought let me dig thru my e-mails from the guy and I will copy and paste it all for you to check out?Wow, what all are you having them do? That seems really, really high! If you're not doing something high end, I would definitely getting a couple more quotes to compare.

Here is what the "installer" said:Sure
I'm having trouble seeing the pictures you attached to this post? Is anyone else?Morel, Hertz, Audison, Genesis are all top quality audio. As many gtrs we have done, we have first started with the sub woofer upgrade and gone up from there depending on the customer needs. The Morel subs are great and also fit in the oem sub enclosure. If you are the customer that wants alot of bass then this would not be for you as a seperate enclosure will be better. Also, to correctly use the oem head unit, you will need a good processor. The one we recommend is the Audison Bit One. The processor is not needed if just adding a sub to the system, only if the mids/high are added. I have added a few pics of our setup we did with our GTR a while back. On our car we wanted to keep the car looking as stealth as possible while having a great sounding system.

Thanks that worked perfectly!
Lunchbox no not Car Toys but a custom shop here in Wa!Hi Wingnut, I'm new to this site. Love car audio and am an active competitor in the IASCA sound quality circuit.
I was intrigued by that install quote. I have to agree that 14K sounds like a lot unless you are truly going to get a top-shelf system and custom installation at the showcar type level. Will they be doing extensive sound deadening, battery/charging system upgrades, custom speaker and amp enclosures? If not, then I would be cautious. The level of install should be that of the Specialized Performance pics above or better if you are dropping that kind of cash.
I've been to shops in the Seattle area, is it CarToys?
