Hmm on a gtr forum. What do you think people will say on here?

I'd say a lot comes down to your personal preferences. Those are two quite different beasts. Need to be able to carry 4? Want something that can be fairly practical? And so on.
Personally I'd only get one I'd the more limited edition GT-Rs if I were to buy new.

When you say you have a chance to "custom" order a GTR what exactly are you referring to? Because there isn't anything custom about ordering a GTR. There is pretty much zero options. Do you mean you have a chance to order a 2022?

I have both a Gen V Viper and a GTR. I like them both equally. The Viper is difficult to get in and out of and the hood is very long.

The GTR is a lot more livable.

One thing to consider is if you have an independent Viper shop or a GTR shop in your area as I do not recommend taking either to the dealership. Especially the Viper.

The Viper doesn't have much room to carry anything. No golf clubs or luggage as I recall, and no one in the "back" seat.
I vote for the GT-R, because the Viper will try to kill you every chance it gets.

Think it’s click bait with the custom order nonsense.

But I’ll bite, if leaving stock get the Dodge. If your “custom” order includes a stroker and some turbos get the R35.

I agree with you on this.
yep, or a 15 year old.
Relavent to my interests, as I am looking at something different to supplement my R35, and the Viper is an option I'm considering right now.

Apples to oranges comparison. I'm not a Viper expert, but they seem to hold their value almost as well as the GT-R. The question really is going to be your personal preference. In current stock form, the R35 is over so slightly quicker off the line, with the Viper edging out by a hair on top speed (and will you ever fully really realize those numbers?). The R35 is overall more livable, has storage space and room for 2 more (tiny) people in the back, and is much for forgiving of driver error than the Viper. As another poster has said, the Viper will try to kill you if you don't have a clue what you're doing. But the Viper has that manual transmission and V10 monster under the hood if you feel the need for maximum 'MURICA.

GTR hands down…
I’ve always said if you have to think about it the GTR might not be for you :p. But viper is lovely but Godzilla will be more comfortable plus all around better car
Guys this isn’t even close, Viper all the way!!! I love my GTR, it’s fast and it’s a good looking car but no way is it even close to owning a Viper. Driving a Viper is a lot more engaging and fun to drive and if your looking to be noticed you’ll instantly be a celebrity if that’s what your looking for. I personally think it’s as close to owning a supercar as you can get. And no I don’t think it’s a supercar but the reaction you get from other car enthusiasts is on par with some low end exotics….
^ yep +1 - cult following. The 5th Gen is bad ass with just nitrous.

Only issue is every single guy I know that’s owned them have spun them at speed racing. Every single one.
Ahhh come on Jojogts and droptopp lol..

Celebrity!? Oh for sure, my GTR takes care of that very single time he is out, no worries there lol. Godzilla is a supercar. In my mind anyway 😆

And yep, spun out or caught on fire has been my experience (Hennessy Viper that one was, RIP)
I agree with the fact that a Viper will try to bite the hand that feeds it (aka, "you knew I was a snake when you bought me, man"). As previously posted, you can mitigate that IF you know what you're doing, but I'd say that's a very small percentage of people out there on the roads today. For me, the GT-R is just so good a building driver confidence and making you feel better than you really are. Sure, every car has it's limits, but the GT-R is forgiving and predictable. So to the OP, don't discount your own performance driving experience in this equation - do you want to be on edge and paranoid every time you take you car out for some spirited driving, or do you have the training and experience to reel it in if things start to go "sideways"? I'm no Andretti, so GT-R for me all day!

I have this exact issue with the GTR. It is to the point where I can't stop at a gas station to fill up without someone trying to ask me about the car. I skip going to the car wash during the day because last time I was there at normal hours I had 3 people in the bay with me talking to me about the car as I was washing it. I always get people at stoplights trying to talk to me all while taking pictures, it has got to the point where I don't even look over at other cars when I'm stopped because I don't want to engage in conversation. Maybe it is the area I live?
Luke,

Where do you live? I'm in Orange County in SoCal and I don't have that issue at all. Occasionally I get comments, but nothing like that.

I'm N.W. of Chicago; I can't go out without someone smiling and waving.
