Does this GTR belong to anyone?

If so just wondering which smart start system you went with, and how it actually works any malfunctions or anything.

Once the car is remotely started do you have to restart the car, or do you just press the push start once and your all set?

its all dependent on the bypass they used. Some bypasses require the car to shut down when the door opens while others will allow you to do to a key take over and hit the button once and drive away. From previous experience with the Nissan intellikey igntions the safest way was to shut down the car when the door opens. Its easy for some bypasses to confuse itself whether or not the owners key is actually in range or it is still remote started.

I got one for 400. usd and thought it was a great deal, only to find out that they won't work in my country. But the dealer told me he was sure it would. :-(

i'm unsure what brand i have, right now 3 lock clicks starts the car, but when i get in and push the brake it shuts off, has anyone successfully installed an autostarter that you can just get into and go without the car shutting off?

mf92, try to cycle the start button from lock-->acc-->On before you touch the brake pedal.
I have tried this and it wont switch out of lock unless i push the brake pedal

I'll be having this installed on my '13 in a few weeks (once the car is delivered) and can hopefully chime in with some success or failure.

My installer is confident he'll get everything working properly but that's what they all say. I'll believe him when my phone turns the car on and I can get in and drive away successfully.

I'm having this installed within the next couple weeks as well. My installer expects no issues either, but like you I'm reserving judgement until I can play with it on my iPhone.

Just had this fully installed on my '13 last week and it works flawlessly.

I will try to make a video later this week when I get my car back from Boulder Nissan of the system working but there are no hiccups.

The remote start is perfect, you just cycle the button without hitting the brake to "ON" and you can then throw it in gear and do your thing.

I'm also stoked it will give me real time updates via text messaging if anything happens to the car.

All around, expensive mod, but worth the piece of mind.

Holy crap batman! Hope they put a full time guard in your ride for that MUCH!! If you don't mind, what system did you get for $1200?? We usually do the full blown 5904 w/ smartstart for $899 regular, $999 with gps
Whoops, I just looked at my invoice and it also had some other things on there.... When we are looking at just the Clifford 420.4X alarm (with additional tilt sensor and interior sensor), smart start and GPS it was around $1050 installed. That also included one year service with Direct for the smart start app ($89) and insurance on all the parts ($99).

I will say this, I've found a few issues with the system, and I found them out while in Vegas. I left my keys in the room but headed to my car with my phone in hand. It did unlock the trunk but not the doors.... It would only arm and unarm the system, not actuate the door locks. I guess we'll just have to iron that out. It only does this from the phone app, both the Clifford remote, GT-R key and door buttons work fine.

Overall I'm pretty happy. I wish the App was more responsive on the phone, but it's understandable due to cell coverage and service. In parking garages it will take more time to figure it's shit out than if it's just the parking lot at work. It's especially nice in the morning if I'm taking the car to work. I can start it up a few minutes before I'm out the door just to get it warmed up initially and let the revs settle.

To be perfectly honest for the majority of GT-R owners this is a complete waste of money going with the smart start app. I'm just a geek and like to have cool stuff. Where I live it would be a stretch to think that I'm in danger of a break in or theft *knock on wood*

Yeah, i have this in my car and all the functions work in the app. I knew the app would be slow from using services like Zipcar which have apps that lock/unlock their cars. I find it more useful for making sure I remembered to lock the car door when I'm inside the house. The GPS tracking functionality is pretty neat as well. You can be notified if a car enters or leaves a zone. If there is an alarm you get texted and the app will also alert. I agree that it is geeky and cool but probably overkill for most.
