You need to edit this. Firstly because your grammar is off and secondly because GT-R's won't reach their top speed in only half a mile.
I was wondering about this. I plan to attend this event. The runway is 7500 feet but only 1/2 mile is used from start to timer? How fast can one expect to get a stock car up to in this amount of distance? I want to absolutely wind it out but I'm not interested in trying to drive 150+ on public roads for multiple reasons. Can someone who has attended one of these events tell me what to expect.

achenator thanks for the reply. That is disappointing. I have been eagerly waiting for this event with dreams of hitting 190+. Not going to happen huh? I was preparing to buy my tickets Friday morning but I'm less inclined to drive all the way to Ocala now to top out at 140ish. i'll probably exceed that at some point driving there! So apparently if I want to wind it out there is no where to legally do it except maybe Texas or some salt flats on the other side of the country. Damn. Why do these events only use a third of the runway? I'm totally bummed out now.

The starting line is probably a quarter mi from one end of the runway in Ocala . To hit top speed in stock car you probably need 2 miles. From old days reading magazine they usually try it on a 3 mile straight.

There is tons of room to stop at Ocala and the runway is wide. You can easily run 10 wide!

thanks Goonthree. So there basically isn't anywhere to drive my car flat out legally. 2 miles...
