I did my wheels yesterday! And yes it's plasti dip! I didn't want to paint over the paint on the original wheels because they also look great. !

Looks good to me. Any close up pics? I've been curious what the finish is like on these colors. Is it metallic?
Yeah here's a closer one. Metallic just means pearls in dip language

Looks great OP! Nice work. BE wheels look so much better all one color IMO.

I did the same thing to my CBA wheels. About to do the same to my DBA but blue metallic.

Thanks. Those are the Mines caps.

Yeah I like the 15 BE wheels much better. Maybe one day I will have my 2012 BE wheels professionally refinished but for now dip works well. Plus it holds up well too.

How many cans of Plasti Dip did that take? Did you have to do any special surface prep beyond a good cleaning?
4 cans of black for the base coat and half gallon of whatever other color you pick.

i just had to wash it down with soap and water.

Did you remove the tire or just paint with tires on?
with tires on! you can just peel the paint off the tires and its less work..

^ Yep.

I put tire shine on the tire sidewalls then did it. Made it even easier to peel. Just make sure not to get tire shine on the pre cleaned wheels.

2 main keys to making dip last.

1) prep. Make sure surface is clean and free of grease.

2) thickness of coats. Make sure to put it on thick. The thicker the more resistant to peeling and gouging it is. I put 4 thick base coats down. Then the metalizer. YOU CANNOT PUT THE METALIZER ON THICK! It will run. Only put the base coats down thick.
