id say overall the 12c is a spectacular bang for the buck. You're getting a car that was 300k in 2012 for 150-160k.

Main problem is that extended warranties are 4k per year, yearly service to maintain that warranty is 2k, and their are hardly any dealers. closest one to me is 400 miles away.
The problem is the first thing with car/horsepower freaks is they void warranty right away with mods! So take that equation out and find a reputable service contact

I just bought my GTR tonight. 2014. I think for it's price point it's a killer. I also think our Corvette Z51 Stingray is a killer in it's price point. Both different cars but excellent performers.

No dlad, the question is at the top. Bang for the buck SUPERCAR.
Can't believe people think the brz to Toyota are super car rated!

The OP is asking a question he knows the answer to.
The GTR is considered the best bang for buck supercar around the entire globe.
Actually, I'm looking for compelling arguments to those vehicles other than a GT-R. You are correct, I do feel overall it probably is the best bang for the buck, but then I'd have to add more criteria, such as daily drivability, all season drivability (yeah, you can put snow tires on a RWD, but it won't be as effective as AWD with snow tires), exclusivity...what else?

I think that other than a GTR, the McLaren MP4 is the best bang for the buck supercar out there. Its exclusive, fast, has some aftermarket (Alpha packages), looks great, and handles great. If the Lambo Huracan can come down a bit in price, it will beat out the McLaren but currently its still priced too high.

That car has terrible review's. I Couldn't justify spending that much for a numbless and simulated driving experience.

I think not only would the new NSX cost too much (well north of $150K), but so would the new Audi R8 V10+ (not sure of its exact nomenclature). Definitely something well less than $150K, and there are going to be segments within the various cars (i.e., $60K or less, $60K to $80K, $80K to $100K, etc.). Personally, I couldn't afford/justify spending anything over $90K, so that eliminates the Maclarens for me. :( Good stuff, keep it coming!

Like the GT-R? Because that's what all the magazines said about it when it first game out too.
I agree. Reading and listening to reviews can be both helpful and at the same time very misleading from one man's opinion. Most of them are dicks anyway. Each one is just 1 persons view. I would never decide on a car from a review but there are certainly some that are dumb enough to do so.

my vote is for Mclarens also... I have been hunting Mp4-12c's for a bit over 3 years now and finally pulled the trigger on a 650S. Honestly I wasn't expecting to be impressed much by it as I have driven many exotics from Carrera GT, 458, 430 Scud, 997 GT2, F12, 991 TT etc etc.... even with my GTR and the BL kit I was expecting to think the Mclaren would be slow... which it is anything but.... it delivers in many ways and is one heck of a value if you can find a used one with the right options.

The GTR was hated because of the computers that kept everything in control, they wanted more personality from the car, a little sense of peril from the car. The computers kept you so in control it didnt take skill to drive fast.
If you want to compare that to a vehicle that has everything simulated down to the brake pedal then so be it.
Ought to go get yourself a Hyundai so you can adjust your steering based on your mood.
No, you do not buy a car based off of a review because everyone has their own cup of tea. But someone who reviews cars for a living knows a thing or two and can give you a good idea of what the car is like. If it did not matter, nor didnt know a thing or two, you wouldnt see companies paying people to do it. And for about 95% of the people that drive it on public roads, they will probably love the thing and not care.
Nsx looks great I give it that. But at the price point, I feel there are a lot better options.

997 turbo & R35 for budget performance ... But it would have to be Italian (other then mclaren) if you wanted true supercar looks , sounds and experience imo

That would unquestioningly be a Nissan GT-R. Fast, fun, reliable.

The second best bang-for-the-buck supercar would be this:
I like Vipers but an ACR would be wasted on me, because I probably wouldn't track it. Of the Base, GT, and GTS (late model ('13+), which would be the trim level to get?
