Why so many owners 1 car?

Looking at cars.com and true car and I notice a lot of GTR’s for sale with 3 and 4 owners. Why aren’t people keeping them and driving them? Most are under 30k miles. Just curious.

People get bored of toys

They bought them just so that they can say, they have owned one (and driven one).

I have two theories:
1. Rich owners rotate toys
2. Car is so fast it's boring here

I am the 5th owner of my 2020. Picked it up with only 6,400 miles and clean pre purchase inspection. Each owner barely put around 1600 miles. It was a Phoenix garage queen.

^^^ yep
Who knows....many reasons. My guess the top two reasons: 1) Younger people buy them and then realize they cannot really afford them; 2) People sell them quick because hidden issues arise and the car just keeps exchanging hands.

They are expensive toys for sure but I would definitely want to drive it. I wouldn’t buy one to let it sit. I actually would want it to be a highway queen. My wife just got rid of a 2020 BMW X6M50 523hp. I miss the hell out of that car. I’ve never ridden in a GTR but what I’m reading is that it’s a lot like the X6 just faster and better handling. Not sure about the long drive ride quality but heck it’s a true sports car.
Also, a GT-R is not for everyone… Ride quality, noises, Nissan fit/finish…

It’s an enthusiasts sports car made to go fast with quite a few compromises… It’s not a country-club cruiser and doesn’t have a flashy, exotic European name plate on it.

Just to be clear, the GT-R has my heart and I love its character, but different people have different wants/needs/desires than it is able to deliver.

I’m an original owner …will not sell.
I don’t care about the noises or fit in finish.
Bmw ,Benzs who cares …i have had them they are just status symbols.
Gtr is not boring…it’s different and will be highly wanted car one day….as the older
GTR models fetch crazy prices.

Not many people stick to one car for long term anymore.
But some of the factors that I think play a part on short term GT-R ownership are:
  • Once you scratch that itch, is hard to justify making payments on such a pricy car
  • If you overcome the itch absence, now you have to learn to love the few GT-R nuisances (i.e. noisy transmission, interior, no functional back seats, eating tires like crazy, never ending mods, Nissan dealerships)
  • Attraction; believe it or not, some people don't like the level of attraction a GT-R gets in their local area. And I say local because I got crazy attention in Colorado Springs, moved to CA, and ignored completely (which I loved).

Maybe if the car was paid in full the commitment would be longer? I feel that a monthly payment would test your GT-R ownership resolution on a monthly basis, specially when it rivals your mortgage payment :)
