Hey Everyone,
My name is Frank form Motorvate's DIY Garage.
I've spent the last 4 years reverse engineering the CAN bus on the FM/PM platform.

The last 2 years have been spent focused on the GTR Gauges and I've had good success:

I have the GTR gauges running on my 2011, 6 speed manual G37 sedan.

I know the CBA/DBA GTR's don't have the most reliable nav/audio system. Funny thing is, many Nissan/Infiniti vehicles use the exact same unit, known as the "08IT"

It may be possible to take a used nav/audio unit from an Altima or Murano and reconfigure it using a USB cable to be for a GTR. Don't think so... read on!

The nav/audio unit in my G37 is from a 2013 Murano. I reconfigured it with a $4 USB A to A cable, to change the start up animation from Nissan to Infiniti, and set the vehicle type to GTR to enable the GTR gauges. Oh, by the way, that nav/audio unit was $60 US shipped to my door. No GTR tax here!

Anyways, my goal is to try to help out the 2011- 2016 GTR owners as we have the same nav/audio unit.

On a different note, I just made/programmed a CAN bus module that enables the tach and coolant gauge to work in a 03 350 swapped VQ37VHR.

So... if you have any CAN bus questions, I'll do my best to answer.

Are you able to help with mapping the brake and throttle position for data logging at HPDE?

You bet!
On the GTR CAN bus I have found: steering wheel angle, front brake line pressure, AWD percent, throttle position, accelerator pedal position, cornering g-force, acceleration/braking g force, engine coolant temp, engine oil temp, engine oil pressure, boost, current gear, individual wheel speed, and a few others.

I reversed engineered those values to get the GTR MFD gauges to work in my Infiniti G37:

I've also made an OBD plug in device that listens to the CAN bus broadcasts, converts the data and saves it to a micro SD card for later analysis.

What would you like to data log?

Good! The long term plan is to test/verify the GTR Gauges on all of the Nissan/Infiniti vehicles that use the same av/nav system, known as the "08IT"

For now, the focus is on testing on a G37, as that is the car I drive and have easy access for testing.
