What are you guys doing for the brembo decal? Is that something that goes inside or is there a solution that will work with the powdercoating baking process?

 

If you don't want down time and don't mind paying contact acg. They'll do whatever color you want and send you a set. Then once you install them send them yours.

 

What about the hats. I've been talking with my brake maker and they claim I shouldn't powder coat them.

 

You'll want to put the sticker on prior to the clear coating.

 

Do you know if you get the stickers directly from brembo? And the stickers are fine before the clear coat? Is the clearcoat done with paint or a clear coat powder coat?

 

I had mine done by Jotech. One of my favorite parts of the car, that stock orangish color is hideous.

 

JoTech really knows how to refinish calipers.

 

Whats the cost involved in having a shop do this kind of work?

 

You can get the stickers anywhere. You don't get them from Brembo. The stickers go on after the base color has been baked on. The clear is done with by powdercoat as well.

 

I was told Powder Coating retains heat, I used Cerakote, they use it to paint guns. Have to reseal your calipers if you powder coat them due to baking them. Cerakote is tuff shit and sprays on at room temp... Worth looking at http://www.cerakoteguncoatings.com/

 

When doing the calipers, you remove the pistons and dust boots prior to coating and then reinstall them once the process is done.

Can I ask why this is such a big deal? Stickers are good enough for OEM

 

Here are mine. They were done with base/clear and just a sticker for the Brembo. I could have done a stencil for the black and had the whole thing painted, but I didn't figure it was worth the time. The sticker will be easy to replace if it ever wears off.

 

CJB08- Thats similar to the color Im using from G2. I went with a Kawasaki Green. I think it will look good against the gun metal

 

Sasha4: so do you use a G2 paint and used a brush to make the color change?
If you used G2 caliper paint, did you took off the calipers or painted them on?

this has made me decide I want to change my color of the calipers.But what color for a red GTR? I want them noticable behind Black wheels.

 

Do high heat metal reflective flake. So if light hits then they shine like a street sign ! Or white with red letters

 

By painting them, you wouldn't need to dismantle the caliper. While this is choice, IMO, most people would powder coat for its durability. I wouldn't worry about the sticker, if you cleared over it, it should be fine.
