Yup every car I've had has been tuned by AMS performance including My Cadillac escalade. They tunedu 13 e63 as well.

Same here. It should have the DCT and the same AWD as the GTR.

I have a Q50s hybrid and the auto transmission doesn't impress me as far as performance goes. It's fine for a cruiser but will not cut it in a true powerful 4 door sport car. Maybe I'm just spoiled with how fast and well the GTR DCT shifts.
You're not - I have had the same trans in my M35XS (I realize - not the sportiest car - but that's the point). It shifts VERY slowly. They are already stating that the car goes 0-60 under 4 seconds - that is not mid 3's or low 3's talk.

Like I said - the new guy and their new thinking isn't doing it for me. It looks GREAT - but will its performance match? I honestly hope so.

Very cool. I will reach out to Eric- thanks Dr. SS.
Sure!! If u live near Chicago u can take it for drive to see how a tuned car feels

Lol - be careful - I may take you up on that...I have never driven to Chicago - closet is Detroit, when I raced in the Michigan Mile.
Anytime

Lol - AMS tuned your car? If Eric is on here - I wonder whether they had to drill a hole in your ECU case - or were they able to take it off and put it back on again? One of the reasons I am hesitating is the fact you have to get at the ECU which is glued shut. If AMS is available - that is a great option.
to tune it, wouldn't they just go through the ODB port like the GTR?

A lot of excitement over a concept car....about 1 in 4 make it too production...time will tell

We do not drill on the 2014 cases, we do remove the cover and reinstall it but after that is done you cant even tell we were in there.

What would keep Infiniti from building it? I could only think that it may hurt GTR sales slightly.

IMO I don't think it will hurt GTR sales. I have kids, so the GTR has been out of the question, but this car has my feathers ruffled and brought me in here.
Hope they build it just like it sits and have an option for a good transmission.

Price point....a fully loaded AWD Q50 is almost 60K....what will this cost?....Is taking the concept to full production profitable for Infiniti?....If it is then we'll see it....With concept cars you never know what is show and what is go.....some of them don't even run....Infiniti is quoted as saying the engine is a "potential powertrain" for the car....As I said, time will tell

I see your point. I would guess that if they did buid it, it would compete against the M5/E63's etc. and be priced similarly. They already have the VR38, so the engine does run and is more than capable of powering the Q50. The Q50 "concept" looked almost production ready, totally different from traditional concepts which some don't run.

Very true....it looks like you can get in it and go....I'm just wondering if Infiniti thinks there is room in that market segment for another car.....not real familiar with the M5 but I'm guessing close to $100K and same with the Mercedes....

Not at all excited at the VR38 being put in this car. I would have been behind the GT-R powertrain being used in something a bit more special - like a production version of the Essence concept from a while back - but this does not appeal to me at all. I feel like using the VR38 in such a similar configuration to the one in the GT-R but in a sedan that shares a body with much cheaper versions dilutes the mystique of the GT-R and goes against the whole idea Nissan had in the first place of making the GT-R unique instead of just the top model in a range of Skylines.

RWD with a tuned Infiniti V8 would have been more interesting and unique to me.

Anyway, we'll see since it's still just a concept. I find it hard to fathom though how this will be profitable or even realistic for mass production unless it's priced very high and made in very limited numbers. The VR38 production line after all was never designed to crank out huge numbers of engines. Nissan would have to forego the Takumi concept with some trade-offs in the process.
