The GT3 is pretty much the only other car I ever considered. My '21 Nismo is just perfect for me because of it's rarity and the combo of those on the road who have no idea what it is and others losing their minds when they see it.

Who else was close to buying a new LFA at msrp (or even under) when they came out? My biggest car regret ever, hands down.

My 600LT was fun while it lasted. I had great fun with it. Flames shoot out at night. :))

Then i got my 991.2 TTS - but I will always love the GTR

The TTS is 100% more reliable, easier to tune, easier to run and much more stable to run fast in the hands of the mere mortals. The GTR is a fantastic car that I really miss. I just needed a few more things.

Gtr is alot of car…you probably have a itch for a new car.
I will say this i have a r8 manual v10 yes it’s nice but the Gtr is my go to car
for a quick blast it’s a favorite for me.
The GTR‘s are special you won’t notice that until you sell .
you probably have a itch for a new car.
This 100%! That itch has led me to selling more cars than I care to mention, only to have some regrets. Now that I'm on my third (and final) GT-R, I'm going to hang onto it until I'm no longer able to safely drive it, and then either give to my son or sell. But in the meantime, that "itch" is ever present. So for me, why not keep the GT-R and get the itch car? In my case I'm thinking of a C8 ZR1.

I posted this in another thread about the ZR1, there's a youtuber named speedphenom that was very displeased about Chevy Dealers NOT being able or competent about working on even the Z06, goodluck with the ZR1. Simply stated, Austin said that the DEALER wanted to charge him $1,000 to just change the tires on his CF rims on the Z06. Yes, you can bring it to a high end tire shop, but really? That's what's scaring me to delve into the ZR1.

Blaming bad service department experiences with Z06's, Stingrays, and the upcoming ZR1 on what a Youtuber posted about the competency and pricing of GM dealers, is like throwing the baby out with the bath water. Like all car makes, there are good and bad service departments. I've faced that with all three GT-R's I've owned. I also ran into the same thing with a previously owned '19 C7 Grand Sport and '21 C8 Stingray, and a many other car makes. I had to look around and find a service department with well trained and experienced mechanics, and not treating baby, as just another Malibu, Blazer, Silverado, etc., sitting on the lot to be serviced. And that's how some service personnel will look at the higher end cars. As for the $1,000 to change the tires off of CF wheels, that seems like a rather extreme nightmare. When I took delivery of my '21 C8 Stingray, I had already received forged aftermarket wheels from Aerolarri. Sure, not CF but still nice wheels. I called around a few places in my area and some either wouldn't do it, or wanted me to pay a Corvette tax. I actually had the tires swapped to the Aerolarri's by a Discount Tire store. They did a great job, were very thorough and careful, and we're actually excited to have the car in their store. Contrast that to my first GT-R ('09) which I picked up in February 2009, and had high performance Winter tires shipped to the store. The service department there couldn't change the tires because they said they didn't have the right equipment in their shop. They actually had to call around in the DC area and find a tire/wheel specialist. They were able to swap them but I was told the bead could break when they did so, because they were run flats.

Local dealer could not change tires at all on friends C8Z06. Local tire shop changed them like any other wheel and tire, no difference in price at all.

When I first owned my '21 C8 Stingray, I went to local Discount Tire to remove the stock wheels and mount aftermarket wheels. They easily did the work, did it right, and were very enthusiastic to work on the car.

Yeah and all Nissan dealers are trustworthy....smmfh...
I only take my GT-R to a guy that owns his own tuning shop, and has been working on GT-R's since they first came here for the 2009 MY. The one time I had to go to a Nissan dealer (first POS), he met me at the dealer and performed the work. He is affiliated with that Nissan dealer and gets called in when a customer brings in a GT-R.

Get a C8 z06 and call it a day.
Current '24 owner here, and previous '09 and '14 as well. I've also owned a '19 GS and '21 Stingray. While there are many reasons to laud a C8 Z06, I'm not sure that is an "upgrade" over a GT-R. I've heard the oohing and ahhing over the flat plane crank, okay, but is that enough? I've gone FBO and that included the y-pipe. I love the sound and even better how much quicker my GT-R is. If a Z06 is quicker than that, it has to be close or not that much more.

My post was half sarcasm 🙂! But it does sound like OP needs a shot of something new in his veins 😂

I've been having a dilemma.. similar to what you guys have been discussing. I've had my '24 for almost 2 years and 30k miles now. Wife has a brand new '25 RS3 coming in to replace our current 4 door in our stable (we try to have 1 4 door daily for my wife + practicality, I work from home and daily GT-R whenever I drive).

I've been having an itch and the only two cars I'm considering are a newer '20+ R8 or C8 z06. The R8 would be very nice to have alongside the new RS3, sounds great, looks great, but I've heard can be neutered to drive and won't feel special compare to GT-R.

C8 z06 I've heard will feel special, sounds great, handling and tech/performance is miles ahead of stock GT-R (no fanboying here, I know the facts) so it's a step up in that regard and also lower in price.

I just worry that I'll sell my '24, the last of its kind, and if I regret it down the line I'll never get back my car being the first and only owner, since new, final model year, etc.

GTR gets tons of great positive attention on the road because it's got that great GT-R legacy and its a legend on the street. They're also super rare, 2024 even more so, compared to a C8 where Chevy has made almost 200,000 C8s so far.

Itch is getting more itchy though..
