Which year model is best?

Hi all
I am getting rid of my 2017 Rouch Mustang to buy my 1st GTR.
I'm not convinced that the 2018 model GTR is the best. I've read on the internet that the 2014 Black edition has the best 0-60. ( google Godzilla by the numbers)

Can anyone advise me on which year GTR is best? I can get a low-mileage 2014 Black Edition, but I don't want buyer's remorse later.

2013 cause thats what i have :D

but IMO 2013, 2015 and 2017 because of the adjustments and improvements nissan made
This is the correct answer.

Depending on your budget, the biggest improvements are 2012, 2015, and 2017 (with each improvement being significant, not some negligible details).

I highly recommend you go for the newest car you have, and with the GTR it is even more pronounced.

There is no right answer...If you want a soft ride that puts down slower lap times get the regular 15 on up(non Nismo or Track pack) ,they had a softer ride and more body roll on road course.

When Mizuno left in 2013 the GT-R became a soft riding pig.Sales declined also

2014's were his last influences on the platform.

With a few boltons or suspension parts the R35 is a fast capable platform no matter the year.

As an all around car, the later models are a huge improvement.

When someone asks "which is the better car" that means comparing the car as an overall package. Performance, convenience, quality of materials in the interior, sound deadening, ride comfort - all of these go into making a car "a better car".

If someone were to ask "which is the best year of GTR to build for a track or drag build" no doubt people would and should say, buy a cheap 2009 and rip it apart.

The general question of "which year is better" is pretty easy to answer with the latter years for sure.

What I have narrowed my decision to is:

Price as a concern : 12

Want a stiffer ride : 13

Want a daily driver: 15

Daily driver with a better look: 17

14 some have a transmission leak and I honestly don't know how much it would cost to fix it outside of warranty, but I have two local to me that had their transmissions swapped under warranty. Nissan doesn't "fix" so it could be cheap or a non factor realistically.

I have had 12 14 and 16... imho would have to say the 16 is the best all around package. Definitely the softest no question but with a few bolt on the car is just as fast as my 14 and has much better ride and the interior is nicer. The only down side was the rims that came with the 16 but that's an easy fix. Also the sound system definitely sounds better then any other year and the display looks a little better. Plus the lighting bolt headlight look amazing. Just my 2 cents

Waiting for dlad to respond to me but before he does 16forLife lol

"Best" is very subjective and dependent on what you're looking for from a GT-R. As BeastYamin broke it down here... there are several factors to consider. I chose the 2017 because I needed the GT-R to be a daily driver, and the improvements that came with the 2017 made it fit that bill better (in my opinion). I also really really like the refreshed exterior and interior (especially the interior) of the 2017.

2016 all the way.

contrary to what many say about these rims, i happen to like them a LOT.

i bought a set of 14 BE rims and bolted them on,,,,,,,,,,,,ehhhhhhhh,,,,,,,,,,back with the stock rims.

Depends on what you want :

US 13’s the quickest stock
US 09 the start of it all
US 15’s the softest suspension and quietest for the DBA
US 17+ best all around daily

You're buggin buddy. 2k13forLIFE....2013 was the fastest mapped car. 2014+ had that detuned, reduced timing bs. 2k13forLIZZZIFE
